I can't recall a single side quest I regretted spending time on, whereas in other games sometimes the side quests are just procedurally generated and repetitive. Even the fist fighting side quests have surprises in store for the player.

I remember getting it on a deal years ago and thought “hmph how overrated, too complicated” and dropped it for years but it got a remaster with the crucial 60fps Within a day I had encountered the quest “Forefathers Eve” , after randomly and conveniently finding the sorceress Geralt knew, and I was just floored by the fact that I was playing SIDE QUESTS and not the actual story. I realized there literally are no empty quests, and after several Death March playthroughs I still enjoy taking random contracts no matter the ease or difficulty. There’s one contract where you suddenly encounter an old friend, actually I think that happens twice lmao. Don’t get me started on the Gwent addiction once I learned to play… It could unironically be just a game of me taking contracts and playing Gwent and I’d label it 10/10, I truly think every RPG since has tried to imitate it for the standards it has set. It’s the only game where I enjoy its hardest difficulty because it motivates you to read about what you’re fighting and use the correct oils, potions and spells to deal with it. It rewards you for your prep time

The pixelated look is caused by upscaling. Go into graphics settings and turn off DLSS/FSR and other such settings. Push antialiasing to max and sharpening as well. If you keep having issues, try playing the game in DX11 mode. Offers slight decrease in visual panache, but improved performance overall. You can switch between DX11 and DX12 in the game launcher, before you start the game itself.

51:51 If I remember correctly, the reason Geralt has decolorated hair is because he is the only witcher alive who underwent the witcher mutations twice. I think he proved to be particularly resistant to the negative effects of the mutations as a kid, so they did it to him a second time, as an experiment, to see if it was possible for a witcher to survive the process twice (the goal of the witcher schools is to create the most effective monster hunters possible, so they have been recording knowledge of monsters that they gained through field research, investigations and experiments for hundreds of years, that is how monster hunters became witchers, which are mutants, in the first place). I think they did the mutations twice with several kids, but Geralt was the only one who survived the process a second time, that is why he supposed to be stronger than the other witchers (because the effects of the mutations are more intense in his case). In other words, all the other living witchers have their natural hair color because they only did the mutations once (Vesemir has white or grey hair simply because he is old). At least this is what I remember reading years ago.

I know that feeling, I loved Witcher 1 and 2 and I have been waiting long years till I could play this gaming jewel, cause I didn't have a machine which can run it, in the end I have bought PS4 pro and spend there more than 160 hours during the first gameplay. It was like reuniting with an old friend when I have jumped in the game. Now I have PS5 and I am enjoying the game even more, I just have very little time for gaming. Ahh the witcher is my all time favourite, I remember when I was 17 when I have seen the first witcher in those stands with videogames in a shop and I wanted to play it imediately. 39:00 The G in Skellige is spoken as it is in Geralt, not like a j, and the e at the end is not silent. 40:33 You're playing on PC, you can always change the keybinds. 59:49 I don't think you'll hate Gwent because Gwent is awesome. I've seen quite a few let's plays and streams where the gamer said they will not enjoy gwent and all of them absolutely loved it once they got a little practice. 1:15:12 Theere are only two ways to draw more cards: 1) When you play the Northern Realms deck and win a round you'll draw an additional card. 2) by playing a spy card or reviving a spy from teh graveyard. Both the Northern Realms and the Nilfgaard decks have spies at their disposal. Playing a spy allows you to draw two more cards, however the spy himself is not placed on your side of the battlefield but on the opponent's side and his strength will be added to the opponent's strength, not yours. There's also a hero card spy that can be added to all decks. The Monster and Scoia'thael decks to not have spys of their own but both can use the Hero spy card. PS: Don't skip any side quests, they're great. Some of the best quests ever made are Witcher 3 side quests.

44:56 I think that is a reference to the ancient theory of "spontaneous generation". In ancient times thinkers believed that living creatures could spontaneously appear out of non living matter. Back then people noticed, for example, that the dead flesh of corpses was sooner or later filled with maggots, but they didn't see the maggots come from somewhere else to the corpse, the maggots just seemed to appear out of nowhere, so they figured that the maggots were formed spontaneously out of the dead flesh of the corpse itself (they didn't realize that what caused the maggots were the the flies laying eggs in the corpses that were invisible to the human eye). So basically what Geralt was saying there is that people tend to spread myths, so one shouldn't give too much credit to it.

Hey Sienna, i'm enjoying this video allot and looking forward to the next one. One tip i'll give you about Gwent is you start with 10 cards and you have to play 3 rounds to win with just those cards, So sometimes it's better to pass on an early round so you still have cards for later. I'd mainly do this if you or the opponent has a big lead. I hope you'll get into gwent because it's great fun once you get the hang of it. And in regards to the FOV the game has a setting between over the shoulder and wide with Geralt in the middle. You can even set combat to wide and normal exploration to over the shoulder. I believe it's in gameplay or display.

Geralt is canonically a Gwent addict. Gwent will be a tad tricky at first but it’s worth learning, and both you and your deck will get better the more you play. Gwent also has its own difficulty slider in the settings separate to the game difficulty if you need it. An important tip for Gwent is to keep the card count in mind. Outside of special effects, you both only get 10 cards, and have to go 2-3 rounds. It’s worth passing and letting your opponent take a round if you think they’ll use up all their cards to do so, so you can come back the next round with all the cards in your hand when they’ve got nothing.

I remapped the buttons so left mouse button does fast attack and right mouse button does strong attack (and I put parry on middle mouse button). I also remapped Dodge to the space bar (and Roll to the R key). While rolling is good if you want to cover a good distance fast, Dodge is superior in most fighting situations. You can leave it really late and hit the key *just* as the enemy is about to hit you. And unlike the roll, stamina regeneration (you must have full stamina to cast signs) is not put on hold while you dodge.

The "upgrade" of this game put the camera closer to Geralt so that you would be closer to the action .. All it did was reduce the player's FOV - you've chosen, rightly, to put the camera back in its original position

I liked how Siri rudely interrupted you, thinking you wanted to know about comedienne Fiona Allen, when you said "Ciri Fiona Elen..." You're in for a treat in Witcher 3. I played, it, then went through Witcher 1 and 2 after they went on sale a a few years back. Didn't particularly enjoy Witcher 2 (Vernon Roche's path is more of a slog than Iorveth's), so replayed Witcher 3 and it's so much better in so many ways.

Welcome to TW3! Or Gwent, depending in what team you are in! 😉 I have some basic tips for you. I recommend to do all the quests and exploration in and around White Orchard. It is a small tutorial area after all, and it introduces you to most things that you can expect later. Don't worry about specific builds. Once you can dance with the monsters you will able to beat the game on the highest difficulty settings, even if you use random skills. So, just play YOUR Geralt like YOU want! Crafting gear is a really tedious system, and buying crafting materials can get really expensive! I recommend to check if you can craft the crafting materials you need, or if you can dismantle crafting materials to get the ones you need. For example, any smith can turn your ores into ingots, or dismantle the ingots into ore again. Btw, rolling on the floor prevents you from regenerating stamina. So, if you want to use a lot of signs in combat, you might want to side step instead. But as I said above, you should find your own combat style, and you will be fine regardless of what combination of skills, gear and alchemy you use, even if you chose to stick to random gear you loot or ignore alchemy all together! 😉🙂

42:20 maybe not an fov mod but there are camera settings in this game(gameplay section i believe), I personally think its much better to have it on pre nextgen default. Also turn on TAAU or DLSS because you play without anti aliasing lol.

I'm pretty sure someone mentioned this already here or over discord, but there's a shortcut for a quick save, just press F5. Also don't worry about the files, the game have a few slots so you won't have to delete them:] There's also an option to change the frequency of the auto save, if I'm not mistaken the shortest is every 3 minutes, so you don't have to worry Ok shhh gwent time🤓

I normally do the small side dodging during a fight, instead of the full Roll, because the Rolling uses stamina and thus makes the time until you can use a sign again longer. 48:15 I always forget that Dandelion is almost 50 when the Story takes place. Although he looks mid 30. He probably did what every Bard does and bullshitted himself somehow into immortality.

If you had searched the ground when you first start with Vesemir and have the dream , you would have found the crystal Raven Skull that fall down when Yennefer was running away. Tip*.... try and buy all Gwent cards from merchants etc... as soon as you find them. For Mod i would suggest some Mod for Unlimited Carry Weight for start... and then maybe a couple of Armor mods for the start of the game.... because beside the one Geralt is wearing at the start of the game.. most other early game armors, are shitty in appearance. Also...if you dont like how the Keys are mapped in keyboard.. you can re-map them to your liking.. for Attacks.. dodge etc..

I'm at the beginning of the video so maybe you fix it later but there is definitely something wrong with your graphics settings, it's not supposed to be so pixelated, the game looks much better than it looks now in your video. Try putting the framerate limiter back to 60fps and turn antialiasing on
