Our worst fight about rc ever. In this epic husband vs wife flight video, Abby just couldn't get this plane in the air. Although everyone fights and bickers, it is important to know that Nate, in all his disbelief, was still encouraging Abby to fly. Abby, however, just was having an off day of flying. An off rc plane day happens to us all, and the most important thing to remember after a crash is to just keep flying. This hobby is all about fun, but crashes do happen. As long as you get the glue gun out, repair, and fly again, that is all that matters.

Abby, I FEEL FOR YOU!!! Trying to compensate for taking off with a different aircraft that isn't like anything you have flown before, can be very challenging. Especially, when you are being filmed and the pressure is on! I encourage you guys to substitute "stupid things" with "mistakes or errors." It just sounds less punitive. Don’t beat yourself up Abby. You lost all confidence then sunk into panic mode and then couldn’t remember how to fly. You’ve flown the Valiant. Ironically valiant means possessing or showing courage or determination. Panic mode caused you to forget what you knew about flying. I’m glad to see you powered through and successfully flew and landed the big orange plane. Keep flying . May God bless you, Nate, and Amelia.

Anyone who has ever flown RC or even control line aircraft has crashed. It's guaranteed! If this is the first time you've flown a tail dragger, it's kind of to be expected as it feels very different from tricycle gear. But you got through it even as panic stricken as you were. Nate is 100% right! WE all need to see the REALITY of RC flying. We all make mistakes, and especially the beginners need to see that rough landings and crashes really ARE a part of the hobby. Love your videos, and Abby is already an accomplished RC pilot. Keep up the great work!

Nate. You're a great pilot.... but a terrible teacher ha ha. It is often the way. Stuff we do instictively we forget to 'pass on' that info (as in feed in up elevator). Abby. In my eyes you're a star. Sure you made an error or two. No problem. All through your nervousness (I heard it in the voice) you did carry on and flew. Cool and mucho applause to you! I love that y'all show the 'outtakes.' I'm not being facetious: It helps me seeing people who are more skilled than I am making mistakes. Flight sims are great for learning. So is seeing accomplished pilots making errors. Not as stupid as some errors I've made, but that's why it helps. And it helps more than you might think. Also, if that's the worst you two 'fight,' congratulations in advance on your Golden Anniversary. :)

For the third time I've got one so high up I need to wait for a storm with high winds to get it down. You guys are lucky to have areas to fly in where you're not so close to trees.

Just a newbie, but after my maiden crash I put "shipping tape" on all leading edges and tips. Seems to help (two crashes since, one a wind shear, and one going out of range and crashing into a field)

Abby re-watch the successful takeoff a few times to realize how good you did. Your failures were simple mistakes like mixing not enough power with too much elevator. I like how Nate said 5 or 10 % elevator + increasing the throttle until it lifts into the air. Then just really get a lot of power to get the altitude you want to cruise. Great effort and fun.

Don't feel bad I crashed mine into a tree about 15 - 20ft also 😂 That's what I get for trying to show off lol Done a loop into a roll and forgot to use high rates and a little back pressure on the elevator and not enough rudder and not enough air speed lol it dropped like a rock right into the only tree around and ripped the motor off The ESC was dangling from a limb 😂It can be fixed though it's not to awfully bad Hope you can get yours back flying also ✌️

@@EJ-74 mine got hung up on the smallest of branches...I tried rocking it with the throttle to no avail, lol...so I went to my son in laws, got his.308 hunting rifle and shot the branch off...that worked except the plane then fell 10 ft. right onto another branch...so, another tree trimming with the .308...this time it came down but I didn't have enough reaction time to pull back on the elevator and she came down hard on the nose gear.

@@papapsadventures6119 Awesome way to get a plane out of a tree I'm definitely going to keep that in mind 😂🤣 I crashed my T720 trainer in a tree about 60ft up it took me for ever getting it down I have about 20 fishing roads I duct taped them together and made a super long pole but it was fairly light then climbed up a 30ft ladder Took me 2 days to get it down because it got dark on me the first day Come to find out all the servos over heated and melted the casings pretty bad one was really bad it melted a hole to where you could actually see the motor I've never seen that before and I raced trophy trucks etc over 4yrs and went through a lot of servos I've got 4 in a plane of mine from 20yrs ago they still work great I guess they over heated because I couldn't turn it off and it had a fresh battery in it so it probably set there constantly twitching tell the battery Nice tip on getting a plane out of a tree thanks 😁🔥👍✌️

The Vector stabilizer is really good. You can use it as an "Oh S*&^" switch and it will instantly save you. Lots of people break wingtips just like Abby, so many install skid protectors on them. Get the DuBros inflatable tires and change out the hard foam Husky wheels. Arrows sells them in the spare parts. The wings are so big on the Husky that it can tip while taxiing, especially on asphalt, if Abby had taken off on grass it would be easier. I bought the SE version 9 months ago. I crashed it on the maiden when it went out of radio range, but it landed itself, no damage, in the blackberry bushes. Otherwise I've never even come close to a crash, it flies that well. I still like the Bigfoot on 4S better. Seriously, make that upgrade on yours and youll see. If you want to try an amazing Balsa plane, get the OMP Bighorn, you wont believe what it does on 3S.

Nate, work on your teaching technique. You criticized here left/right stick movements. The next instructions were "Don't touch the right stick." You probably should have put on easy rates, and a bit of up elevator. She did what you told her to. I would have backed off and tried again on a different day.
