Hi, I need help, because Oura has NO phone tech support. I have a Samsung Galaxy 21 and the app will not connect to my new ring. I cant pair my ring because i get an error that says i need the app? any advice?

Ugh, unfortunately Marisa they only do the online help contact, and that is a bit frustrating. Online chat hours would have been nice at a minimum. In the early days of using it with an iPhone I had a few issues connecting the ring with the phone (it would randomly stop connecting to the app similar to your issue), and the way I got around it was to completely delete the app from my phone and download again from the App Store and that got it working again. I found some troubleshooting steps with a way to reset the ring and clear the phone that might help you here: support.ouraring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025592013-Troubleshooting-Connection-Issues Try that and if that doesn't work do contact them. At least when I contacted them they did respond quickly, but of course something that could have been solved with a quick phone call can take days of back and forth, sigh. I'm still loving it. I've been using it religiously since I got it. I find that it does a good job with the sleep analysis, and, at least for me, when that sleep score is down and the hrv is getting high, it is a good predictor that I'm probably getting sick. I haven't heard of Apple coming out with a ring, and if they do, that would be a long time away. A ring for Apple would probably eat into their watch sales, so I can't see a business value for them. I could be wrong. Oh, and as a company Oura is great. My ring battery life was getting bad about 2 months ago (almost 2 years of use) where it wouldn't hold a charge for a full day. I contacted them asking if there is something I could do like maybe get a discount for a new one as an existing customer, and no questions asked sent me a replacement for free, which was unexpected. I have no relationship with them btw. I doubt they even know this video exists lol.

Hi, I do like it so far and it seems to be freakishly accurate. There were nights that I felt I slept enough hours, only to feel groggy and the app would show me that my sleep was not as restful (too much movement, not enough rem, that sort of thing) Originally I wanted it for sleep tracking, and while the data is rich if that is what you want to track, what I found useful is when it tells me that I should take it easy that day. I've been trying to exercise consistently, and if I don't get enough recovery, Oura detects that and tells me to ease off. Every time I ignored that warning, I could feel it during my workout that I don't have the energy to complete it. I have the Apple Watch and during a bike session when I ignored the warning, I could see my average HR was about 6-7 beats higher and I was really struggling. I got an email from them that in June the app will be updated to be able to better track exercise. I'll actually paste it below. One thing to note is that if you are doing weight training to remove it from your finger. I find that it kind of puts too much pressure on my finger and it kind of hurts. No, you don't have to. Without the membership, you can still view your scores, but that is about it.. The membership provides extra analytics for those wanting to dive deeper into the data.

does the wifi on your phone need to be turned on

Just bluetooth in order for the ring data to sync up with the app. The ring has enough memory to store about 7 days worth of data. Network connection is needed if you want to sync up the data to view on the web portal, firmware updates, etc. Otherwise internet is not required (only exception might be initial setup)
