Wow! I've been to Ouray several times, but never knew about this. What a fabulous thing to do for the people who can do it. Stuck in Oakland CA but your videos are a Godsend. They take me to places I can't get to any more physically. Thanks a bunch.

Excellent briefing. It did, however, convince me that I'm not up for it. That probably makes your presentation just as valuable. Thanks

Dang - I'm just down stream below the power station and didn't know about this until this video. I'll walk up there in the morning and have a peek. I hate to be a snob but it's "You-Ray", with most locals putting an emphasis on the second syllable. Great video and thanks for promoting our fine little town.

It is a lot of fun. I have been corrected on pronunciation and will remember it. Thanks. Have fun.

Thanks for Ouray trek...really exciting! Drove the Million Dollar Hwy 25 yrs ago or so in the autumn- what an incredible drive! This past Sunday (May 31st), I went to Del Water Gap NRA with my friend Nancy on the NJ side but all park lots were full & rd up north was blocked by nat'l Park rangers so had to go back to Pa & did walk along beautiful lake near Kittatinny ridge ( Blue ridge ); here's the upshot. Nancy went back to DWGNRA on Monday for a drive on Old Mine Rd & saw 9 bear! Two momma bears with 2 cubs each & 3 solitary bears! I missed out! See sent me a short video of 2 cubs crossing the road. I gave her the trail name of 'Nanc-E 9 Bears.' Dang it! Anyway, while you did your thing out west, I was doing the east coast equivalent of enjoying the outdoors (alas, less the bears). Thanks as always...

It says open at 8...do you think we can start earlier if we choose to not have a guide!? Thanks for the video!!
@danahollister40844 жыл бұрын
Hi there. There is a gate at the start of the route. It opens at 8. It doesn't matter if you have a guide or not. You want to be there at 8 for sure. You can end up behind a lot of groups later in the day. It is important to follow the rules. We would not want to lose access to this wonderful trip. I too wish it opened earlier. Take care and have a safe trip, it's awesome. Thank you for watching and the note.

Thanks! Got there early before 8 and waited for the gate to open! Super fun. We were the first ones on the VF 🤙🏽

Fantastic video! How would you rate the difficulty and safety versus the Telluride Via Ferrata?
@danahollister40844 жыл бұрын
I think it is safer. A little more climbing up and down but not any harder. Thanks for watching.

The locals pronounce it “you-ray” with emphasis on the “you”
