I got this exact same car (the white one) for Christmas in 86 or 87. I waited months for Christmas Day to finally arrive and the batteries died in like 5 minutes. Haha! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Fly Eagles Fly.

This was a Christmas gift for me in 1986 and I remember I had to get a paper route just to pay for the batteries! This thing EATS batteries!!!

Love it. Way back in December 80 something, my brother and I asked our parents to buy us Turbo Panthers, and we ended up with Turbo Runner Buggies. The same frequency, so we couldn't race each other. 😂 Around 1985 I finally got a white Turbo Panther, and also discovered Tamiya and Kyosho rc cars.

I can't believe I found the car I had when I was 10 years old. I got the turbo panther in 1990. And would race my best friends grasshopper. Good times thank you for the nostalgia. I'm still playing with rc cars, have an old tyco bandit that still works. But I mostly race my traxxas stampede.

the tyco and nikkos are both made by tamiya they are different chassis I think the lobo has the nikko radio and tyco style chassis compare the lobo to the hopper I think they are the same chassis also the the older cars had separate circuits for the radio receiver and the drive motor mine had two of the AA batteries ran the radio and the rest for power I think newer versions of both brands finally used an all in one system with one single 9.6 volt batteries to run everything also the newer turbo panthers had big tires on the front

Holy geez, these are the exact two cars my sister and I had. We played tag with them. They did not hold up over the years.

The white turbo Panther had a transmission frequency of 40Mhz , and the red one had a frequency of 27Mhz. That's how it was in Australia, at least.

I didnt know how collectable these are and I have the camouflage turbo panther that even had the machine gun before I lost it !! It didnt have the transmitter and I finally put hobby grade electronics and a front steering servo with fishing string !! homemade 9.6 pack it was decently fast about 20mph and with the custom battery could run a long time. The turbo panther motors are a 370 sized can but different windings depending on year and brand.

....try 1.5 v alkaline batteries and the turbo panther will get considerably faster

I have de red one number 35. I love it. I want to repair, where can I find de rubber wheels? Any one knows?
@ourdogzippy10 ай бұрын
I can only think of maybe eBay for originals, you will likely need to buy an entire car for parts, or try an RC website to find similar wheels and tires but putting on something else not original would be a modification and a lot of work
@skylined55348 ай бұрын
You could also see if eBay or amazon has tyres available for different buggies which have the same or similar width and diameter. Worth a look! Other than that, convert to using bonded on sponge tyres as per oval and small circuit racers such as those for Mardave cars.

That’s a great looking buggy, I am thinking mid 1980’s? I’ll guess 1985

Not fair for the smallest one. Had the same in 1989. With this model, either you own a battery charger or your father owns a battery factory.

Does this car need to be charged and also then add batteries as well ?
@ourdogzippy2 жыл бұрын
This one needs 8AA for the car for each use and then you must replace once the power is drained and a 9 volt for the controller (this lasts a while) so this is an expensive one to run
