We are building the hearth for our new wood stove!! Today in part 1 we will be laying down stone, cementing it in as well as grouting it and applying a German schmear technique to make the stone look rustic and warm! We set the hearth in with a wood beam that we aged with coffee!

that sounds like such a fun project! we went to so many stone shops because the stone we wanted was so expensive!! we finally came across one that we were able to get it all for about $180 but it’s definitely pricey. if it were cheaper i’d love to do the whole back wall😍
