You can screw an eye hook into the spindle, then tie on clappers or string a jump ring on the string used.

The inside ringer is called a clapper I think. I’ve used jingle bells inside. Medium sized.

I think it was last year.Someone had used something similar to your base.But I think they used a votive cup and made it into an angel. They used a styrofoam ball for the head , but that's about all I remember? Do you know who that might have been?
