The messege of the video is... It shows how traditional art forms / music/ culture are looked down up on / made fun of. It shows how people are forced to abandon their culture. Also shows how they are driven to that stage. The father represent the gurus/ those who made the art . The small boy represents the art/ culture. The school bullies represent the modern generation who burry the art/ culture alive. It's a strong message. I wish our youth would go back to their roots.

@@nomad4273 Not just balance. They should try to know it. Why they are, why so, the reasons etc. Ofcourse, many will say "it's our choice". But they should understand that all choices are not good. Those who questions everything should genuinely try to understand the reasons behind certain "myths/ superstitions/ pseudoscience" without any bias. Then they'll clearly understand it, if they are willing that is. • Why Carnatic music is different? In what all aspects? How it transforms / heals/ energises the subtle body. • Why there are certain rules in temples, why temples are built like that, especially South Indian. • Importance of Yoga, certain lifestyle And many other things and practices which were / are followed. People should try to understand it. Yes many understood it and it changed their biased views. It changed thir lives too.

it always make me feel sad that we losing our culture and traditional arts day by day. now much more people want to be a playback singer in indian movies rather than to be a classical singer. most of the people want to be a choreographer in movie's dance rather than to trained in our cultural dances. because people don't respect cultural art Because in today's world money is more important than an Art. many people don't care about Art they care about only Money and it hurts me.

Kadhakali Has 5 main Costume Sets (and 18 others for specific characters from hindu mythology but they are rare). Each costume is given to a specific type of character Costumes in Kathakali represents the three qualities of nature viz. satya (nobility), rajas (aggressiveness) and tamas (darkness) represented by pacha, kathi and thadi respectively. Pacha (Green) for noble male characters like kings and divine beings. Eg Lord Krishna or Rama Kathi (Knife) arrogant but Courageous eg Ravana, Dhuryodhana etc.. Thaadi (Beard) generally for lower classes like monkeys ,forest dwellers, crude people.. Red Beard baali, White Beard Hauman, Nandi etc..Black Beard Dhusasanna, hunters etc... Kari (Charcoal) for demonic characters like Keechaka , Minukku (Radiant) for Saints, women, like Narada, Rishis, Sita, Panchaali, etc..

Rick NAILED IT in first viewing itself.. spot on man, you got a good eye for art and artistic meaning behind things.. the message of this song is incredibly relavent and very much needed right now in india.. my generation is COMPLETELY MISSING the sheer greatness of our ancestrous culture, art forms, way of living, science, yoga, ayurveda, spiritual explorations and realizations, the list goes on and on.. im not saying its "great" out of pride, or just because its MY culture, no.. im a sceptic by nature, i've explored and found many things from our ancestors teachings and practices, and USED them, and benifited from these practices.. thats why i calling my culture GREAT.. Most of my generation(including me) have got it completely backwards i.e my generation is ACTUALLY ASHAMED OF OUR SANATHAN DHARMA for the fear of looking orthodox or backward-minded or old fasioned, i dont know.. Hindus in particular are very SELF-DEPRECIATING in this time and age..

I swear, I your involvement and enjoyment of the entire video was as epic as the song itself. I hope you were not faking it, because, if you were, that was epic too!

You don’t need to know the language to feel the emotions in a song. Hence music, they say is a universal language.

If you want to see a bit more of Thykoodam Bridge check out their following: 1. The track 'One' from their 'Navarasam' album. The visuals are a treat 2. Their cover 'Chekele'. It has strong vocals and has a mix of metal and rock which you will definitely freak out over. 3. 'Nostalgia'. A studio version of their ode to the Malayalam language '

May I suggest "Aigiri Nandini" by Thaikkudam Bridge from the movie Solo! It's a 'stotram' (an ode or a hymn) in praise of Goddess Durga which has been 'rockified' by Thaikkudam like it's nobody's business. You guys would love it! There is a lyrical video of it on YT.

Kantara movie basically took the concept and the song itself and made a story around it. Suggest u watch the movie and revisit this music video.

I knew you would love this one! Yes, it is a work of art and a thing of beauty! I found this song in the credits of one of the episodes of Family Man and in an analysis interview with the team, they mentioned this as a nod to one of the characters. I got curious and looked it up and the video blew me away! I had been requesting it for a while and gave up after a point. I am grateful to Nitin and a few other stupid babies who were more tenacious than me in keeping the requests coming in steadily! Thank you, guys! Also, Korbin you missed an important comment from Prince about the theme of the video. The character in the yellow outfit in the end is, I suspect, Krishna. But, I am not an expert on Kathakali, so I could be wrong.
