Was watching this movie last night and was wondering this movie is soooo good, even Rick and Korbin wouldn't know how good if they ever watch it. The fact that they had no clue what Ranbir was doing once he got hold of the hat is a an indication of how they wouldn't get so many subtleties in this movie that make it a masterpiece.

They're theatre people. They'll definitely "get it". Sure some of the cultural nuances might get lost on translation, but that way I'd say this movie is very modern and wester, to not be understood.

@@xavabhinav well those cultural references play a big part in movie and in understanding Ranbir's character. In many scenes Ranbir will unknowingly transpire into a story teller and start enacting a story. If you aren't aware of the story, you'd not only wouldn't understand what he's doing but also might end up thinking that Ranbir overacted or acted badly. Also you wouldn't get his interactions with Piyush Mishra (which basically shaped up who Dev was and gave the adult Dev the final push that he needed to follow his heart) if you aren't aware of all those stories. I mean many Indians didn't get the movie, it's unfair to expect these two to get it. They'd enjoy it and appreciate it as a movie but they won't feel it.

It's not JUST a romantic comedy. Actually it's not a comedy at all. In my opinion it was the best film of 2016. Imtiaz Ali used a lot of his theater background in many scenes which probably didn't work for a lot of the audiences. This is one of those films that will be appreciated more after its time. This is a movie about finding yourself. You will LOVE it. Some insanely beautiful acting, music, and direction. I will never get over it. It's a masterpiece.

Tamasha is a great movie with a deep philosophical meaning which couldn't be grasped by everyone...being forced to pretend to be someone we all are expected to be but we don't want to be because deep within we want to be ourselves,may be just opposite to everyone's expectations...the movie is about the same struggle that Dev,the character played by Ranbeer goes through. Amazing,spellbounding performances of Ranbeer and Deepika and music by A R Rahman and Lyrics by legendary Gulzaar sahab were the cherries on the cake...definitely recommended to watch.

First half of the movie Tamasha is mostly shot in Corsica (France). It's a whole lot more than just a love story. It's a story of finding your purpose in life. Of doing what you're good at. In India, life is a race to becoming a doctor or an engineer. But what if you don't want to be part of this race? This movie answers this question beautifully. Plus it has some of the best songs with great depth and meaning. Ranbir is just amazing here, and Deepika pulls off some of her best work till date. Please watch it.
