This movie was a blast to the past for me. Being from the west coast of Southern India myself, the village, temples, tropical plants, the green canopy, mango trees which starkly contrast the urban life in Mumbai. Ah.. cant get more nostalgic and cozy than that.
@EagleOverTheSea11 ай бұрын
Same. I think the coasts of MH (Ratnagiri and southwards), Goa, Karnataka and Kerala have so many similarities, if you are from one of these places, you will easily feel at home in the others.

I feel like , in a year where BIG , like MASSIVE style films are the go-to for audiences - Jawaan , Animal and even Salaar ...... I think these 3 films (12th fail , 3 of us and Kaathal core) brought into fore what I truly consider the BEST of Indian cinemas which almost no other movies in the world do . It is to create small , almost muted and yet deeply human stories with pure brilliant acting , that has the power to move mountains within us . I remember a simple scene where Jaideep's character tells his wife - "Khaana bohut achha hai , like kardenge ..... Subscribe toh tumhe life mai kar hi diya hai" And I just felt fucking warm inside . This is the sort of films that were not there in the industry for the past few years . In the heat of crime dramas post Sacred games , Mirzapur , Paatal Lok ...... we sort of need to remember that we also made films like Lunchbox , Masaan - simple romances that resonate with everyone . THAT i believe is the soul of Indian film making

Yeah that subscribe dialogue was so heartwarming, and the Giant Wheel scene......omg , what expressions of Jaideep and Shefali ❤

Watched The Three of Us , the day before yesterday.........What a beautiful movie indeed and the acting......omg the expressions of Jaideep and Shefali......I mean absolutely Oscar worthy performances , I can't just imagine why are we getting exposure to such gems this late, our sheer ignorance that we have failed to recognize true talents of country for so many years.

Suggestion for another movie from India that deals with dementia (more specifically Alzheimer's) is the 2005 Malayalam film "Thanmatra" Features a heartbreaking performance by Mohanlal.

Tbh past oscar winners doesn't get any respect even after winning.Last year Oscar winner mm kreem and chandrabose not even invited to present awards this year.Awards are pretty overrated entities.Just for tv ratings.people overhype award ceremonies.espwcially I don't care about Oscar hype.its just usa internal award shows.Nobody cares about Oscar winners even in usa these days let alone foreign.People respect powerful countries that's it.And in these times India is a rising power while west and usa are fading

AR Rehman once talked about how he was picked up as a music director for a foreign project and only given the due respect because of his Oscar. Sometimes, people don’t value just your talent. Unfortunately, that’s a vey sad reality. So to push forward, you need international recognition, specially when you want to grow more. That’s why it’s important for us to celebrate our talents so that they can push further and grow even more. It becomes essential to support artists in an appropriate and timely manner.

Your interest in the Oscars is understandable. But you don't have to time the Dummies to when the Oscar nominations are made. You should treat the Dummies as OSR's Oscar winners for Indian films and do the Dummy awards in January or February so you have a whole calendar year of Indian movies included.

Or go back to ranking everything they watched that particular year. They can do separate segments for new releases and older films.

Considering that you guys don't get to watch a lot of the releases in the same year, you should start including everything that you watch in the year for dummies.. Otherwise it's so pointless and frustrating..

Sorry wasnt a fan of this film. Really wanted to like it but couldnt connect to it as all characters came across as sacchrine sweet and kind natured angels who speak in soft voices. I wanted the film to portray how people wpuld behave in real life but I guess they just wanted to portray the goodness of peoples hearts. But great cinematography and acting by Jaideep(Shefali in my opinion went a bit overboard with her potrayal).
