Those were very good tips. 👏🏽👏🏽💖 Whenever I cook it's mostly for two meals at a time but when baking that's kind of tough to keep everyone away to make it serve for more than one meal or day. I love to cook but it's never my intention to cook every day, but there are some weeks when I'm cooking almost every day and it depends on what is being cooked. I can see that your hair is growing back pretty well since you cut it.💖

One thing that has helped me is to buy the big package of ground beef at Sam's Club and cook the entire package at once. I usually add onion, salt and pepper. When done, I split it into one pound portions in freezer bags and put it in the freezer. I flatten the bags before putting them into the freezer so they stack nicely and take up less room. It makes it so quick (saves on clean up too) and easy to grab a bag of ground beef and make a pot of chili, spaghetti, beef stroganoff, tacos, etc.

I just did this today! Cooked 10 pounds of ground beef, half with onions/peppers, half without. Then package them in one pound portions and into the freezer. If you drain them well they will crumble up and be easy to thaw.

LOVED tip 10. As a stay at home mom sometimes I feel like all I do is deal with food wether It's planting a garden, tending to it, harvesting, preserving, meal planning, grocery shopping, prepping, cooking, cleaning and then repeat. It was so good to hear that It's ok to spend a lot of time around food and that God made it this way...that's so freeing! Thanks so much Sarah ❤

I throw frozen chicken thighs or breasts into my InstantPot if I don’t have any thawed meat. 22 mins under pressure - so about 30 mins total and the meat is done. In that time I can roast veggies or make a different side. Often I can change into comfy clothes, catch up with family while the InstantPot is going. Makes my brain happy on the way home from work knowing this is an option.

Hi Sarah! I just wanted to share one of my easiest meals with you. Salsa Chicken. Sear your chicken in a pan, You can use any parts you want, but I usually use boneless breast, boneless thighs, or the raw chicken straps. Put the seared chicken in a casserole dish, pour a jar of Salsa over it top with cheese, I use cheddar and Monterey Jack and put in oven at 350 until it temps done. I open a couple of cans of black beans or pintos, spice them up and heat them, then through together a simple salad. Fast, economical, and delicious.

I find having some cooked meat in the fridge or freezer helps me. Taco meat, cooked chicken for casseroles, pulled pork and roast are my favorites. when you decide to make a chicken dish that calls for 2 cups of cooked chicken you can just take it out and thaw it and throw it in. I try to keep some meat portioned into small batches so I can just take out enough for a quick lunch for myself and I'm not stuck with a whole pound of meat to be used up.

One big tip... You can thaw meat in the microwave! If you are going to cook it you don't even need to use the defrost setting. That way meat doesn't go bad. Not ideal for something like pork chops but for ground beef or chicken you are going to cook like for a casserole, just throw it in the microwave for a few minutes and then cook as normal.

Two of my favourite quick meals I made when my kids was wee were 1.tuna casserole- cooked pasta, tinned tuna, fresh baby sweet corn and hollandaise sauce, mix, top with grated cheese pop in oven for 20 mins yum. 2. Nan bread or tortilla pizza- spread Nan or tortilla with pesto, blitzed tomato and onion. Top with fav cheese, meat, peppers etc. takes 15 minutes from start to ready to eat. Like you Sarah I batch cooked also if I had any leftover cooked meat, potato or veg I’d make a pie or add lots of potatoes and make stovies(Scottish potato based stew). I spent all day Sunday making bread, healthy tray bakes, pies or pasties for the kids to take to school for lunch. I also found it helped my purse immensely to meal plan and only buy what I needed for those meals. Thank you for sharing your tips, knowledge and experience on how to manage mealtimes. When I had children at home, (they are all grown up now) I had a list of regular staple meals on my fridge. I also planned around what was in season.

My husband is a bodybuilder and we have 13 kids (oldest is 19) with different appetites but we mainly go for what my husband eats our meals always start of simple and they make it their own with their favorite sauces. We focus on good fats, very little sugar, minimal dairy (except for our younger ones) so casseroles are very few in our home. We do eat out 2x a month. Left over only get eaten by the teenagers for quick meals after sports. our teens always complain about us being an ingredient house lol! They want hot pockets, chip bags, string cheese sticks just waiting for them like their friends homes but we can justify those item in our home. Good video.

Best of all at the Holidays she invites Families that won’t be with their Family especially at Christmas. Now you know I am on my own. Even though sometimes, I think I would like to pick up “fast food” ? It is to expensive! I am fine with a bowl of cereal or some eggs for dinner. The hardest part is eating alone.

Great insight on how God made food for us and how we should view it. I’m a SAHM and cooking from scratch more has been a goal and journey for me this year. After also learning about milling my own grains at home and getting flour that way to bake with, it’s been another lesson learned for us. So many health benefits and it’s so filling and stretches meals as well. So my tip is to get a grain mill and mill at home to make your own flour and then have sandwich bread or rolls at home to eat with dinner and stretch your budget and meals out. You can batch bake and freeze and always have bread on hand for sandwiches and other things. And can even buy a bread machine if baking bread by hand seems scary. But after awhile it’s easy and kinda fun and encouraging. Sometimes it’s worth the money upfront for certain things when it’s has major benefits, financially and/or health wise.

My husband and I have always tried to make birthday time special. Along time ago, I bought a special plate to help celebrate a birthday meal. Then a few years ago I had the idea of a tea pot… The tea pot is set in the middle of the table during the celebration meal. In the teapot, you will find many questions that help centre discussion around the person we are celebrating. For example, what is the questions might say if he/she could take a trip anywhere where would it be?
