Love your videos! I found your videos at a horrible time in my life. I was on full bedrest hoping I could get my pregnancy to viability. The OB kept telling me to terminate because she was going to die anyway. That because I was already dialated at 20wks that no way I could carry to viability. I found your videos while trying to distract yourself. Your family and faith kept me going. I said if sarah can carry 10 babies to term I can get this baby to viability. Well my daughter was born at 37wks almost full term!!!! I give yall a LOT of credit in that because yall gave me hope. She is 15 months old now and a wild child. She is half nigerian

When we moved to the country, I was introduced to canning. My pastors wife called me and invited me to her home... To help (and learn) canning. Every time a lid popped she would say, "thank you Lord". Every time I've canned since, hear a pop, I STILL say, thank you Lord. He grew the produce, blessed us with it, and provided the knowledge to prepare for the future. PTL. 🥰
@mrsp7324

I do that too with the popping. I usually pray over the batch when we seal the pot and start the canning process because we can't afford to waste the ingredients not sealing or the jars breaking.

I also have had to send back almost all items to Amazon except once I had a damaged item they refunded with no return...it was an item that cost only around $5. They would definitely want a $370 item back to resell in Amazon Warehouse (a great place to find deals on returned items that are still functional!)

I grew up learning to can with my mom. We peeled, chopped everything, pickles, making jelly's and jams. Freezing corn etc. I still do small batches, (I'm eighty). I froze peaches and okra, peas, green beans, squash, blueberries over the last three days. So satisfying, and so good. Oh, we never used a pressure canner and neither do I. Never had a problem. I did something similar with an electric pressure cooker! I remembered mine after I was completely frustrated peeling hard boiled eggs. As usual they were impossible to peel without losing half of the white! I’d tried every tip and trick out there, but I always had the same result. Then I saw a YT video where an Instapot was used and the shell came off easily, so I thought let’s give it a whirl. Boy o boy do I wish I’d tried it sooner. I’ll never make hardboiled eggs any other way. They peel perfectly, they’re cooked perfectly, no grey ring and it’s less time than on the stove!

You tell young teenagers "NO" for liability reasons and safety reasons. If railing gives way or they slip....you are responsible. Just say NO to jumping off porch. It is dangerous and I'm sure you'd want them to father children later in life; provide they don't maim themselves on your property. :) Love, Love Belle for learning to cooking, helping with prep. and giving you a break. :)

I love, love Sara’s videos 💜. In addition to possible permanent injuries/death. Their medical insurance provider will go after your homeowners policy for reimbursement. If you have a talk with your teens I’m sure they will understand. It shouldn’t be up to you to be the bad guy. It’s up to your adult children to make sure there friends act responsibly. It’s a sign of respect.

This was a great video....I learned so many different things...you did so very much on this day. I used to help my Grandma back in the 70s +80s Cann food but we did it so early in the morning so the house didn't get too hot...we did alot of tomatoes with corn and Butterbeans ready for soup...I loved it..

I have an electronic canner, big pressure canners, small pressure canners, water bath canners, all the things. I love my electronic one for when I have just a small batch or a little extra and I can throw it in - go to work, come home and take it out - done! It definitely does not replace any of my other systems, but it can dramatically reduce the amount of food waste and mystery tidbits lost in the freezer. I LOVE our canner meats.

another plus with the electric canner is you can sterilize your jars before filling them with hot pack foods I do not have one yet but I want one!!

The electric canner is one of my fav things! So nice to not babysit a stovetop canner. Plus you can do smaller batches which is good considering quantity purchase limits at some stores.

Oh, suggestion, build a “summer” kitchen quickly at the property. Half wall up, screened rest of way up. You can use it for canning and leave all your canning stuff together. Also build pantry at end, if possible on top of storm shelter large enough for cool storage. Look up cool bot on how to use window air conditioner to make walk in cooler.

Absolutely loved the video. It was my KZbin video of the day. I was cringing too just thinking of the guy's hitting the water from the railing. 😬So glad they were just fine and had a great time. 😊😊 Your homemade pasta looked delicious. And you're right, making yourself verses the box taste better.

My children have long flown the coup sadly i have frozen extra meals for over 40 years so I have no reason to pre prepare when cooking for 1. So I watch you, Acre Homestead and Family homestead I remember my grandmother canning fruit and jams there were always bottle of Fruit and jams. I think it’s wonderful that people are looking back to the old days especially post Covid keep up the good work and enjoy you new property. I look forward to seeing your family and the new way of life for all of you. Keep up the good work Sarah. 👏

I just bought the same electric canner from my brother. He had bought it intending to use it but never even plugged it in. I was inspired by your beans and canned garbanzo beans yesterday. So easy! I think it will be nice to be able to can broth throughout the winter. I am also thinking of trying some meat and soup, which I have done before in a regular pressure canner.

Hi Sarah and Solo Always let your glass stovetop cool off before you you wash it off. The glass will shatter if you don't. That happened to my niece's brand new stovetop. She washed it down too soon and it shattered and they had to get the stovetop replaced. Lyatt Sandee from Ohio. 💜💜🙏🤘😊
