There are many reasons why this technology can have a extremely detrimental impact on society, if combined with AI... I realized this dude is excited and sees the $$ signs... but in the end, this will be one of many technologies that ends up backfiring on civilization and something that we all wish we could take back. Don’t get me wrong, safer cars would great. But this goes well beyond the narrow scope of whats being considered here... fell free to bash away.

The AI invasion. Imagine driving your car, trying to get away from a government that is corrupt and not being able to get to your destination because they can remote into your car and shut it off. Don’t worry, it’s for your “safety.”

​@@momentum2000 I'm not talking about it's IPO, I'm not talking from 5 years ago. I would never buy an IPO. Dumb people bid up the stock during IPO's to ridiculous valuations to then just dump them. I'm talking 1-2 years time frame. Ouster has retuned about 80% in 1 year. Go look at the graph. I believe it will go to it's real valuation in a couple of years because Lidar will be used in robots, self-driving EV's, machinery, basically everything. Lidar is expected to be a 8 billion market by 2032, it is currently less than 1 billion market. This is one of the best companies with this technology. Come here in 5 years, this stock will probably be $30, it is currently 9, that means it will triple in price. I'm a process engineer working in the semiconductor industry in silicon valley and we got orders from this company for packaging services for their chips.

So we are 5-10 years out to transportation, utility and agriculture automation. Glad we are bringing in 2 million low skill workers a year to help us make that transition. Generational welfare on its way. Truthfully, I'm getting tired and frustrated about paying for irresponsible policies that take money away from my family and gives it to others. With energy and inflation I need every dime.
