You'll never please everyone, but it's very good that you completed the ARO with such a grandiose and basically unexpected for many. Sounds great. Thanks.

The simple fact that you folks continue to release affordable, high quality, versatile, customizable libraries that aren't too resource intensive is why I keep coming back for more. $50 is an absolute steal for this. For those of us who are composing on a budget, with budget computers, you are offering genuine options and it's greatly appreciated. Excellently done as always, and I can't wait to see what's next.

Thank you Spitfire & Paul for finally giving us the long awaited legato high strings: these sound gorgeous! Have already ordered them and can't wait adding to my template. Also thank you for giving us more then just one or two octaves as sadly done for some other selections. The violin legato works also really well based on this video. Very much look forward playing them :) Greetings from Sweden!

At 4:05 you've said this before and it's mostly magical thinking. Having more players playing together has negligible intermodulation differences (intermodulation also happens in post) or resonance effects on the room and "other instruments vibrating the instruments being played"...not much you'd actually notice. Just like all things with music, everything you notice as good in the final product is almost entirely creditable to the humans involved, not the instruments or gear or spaces (much as you like marketing recording spaces). In this case the human players are effectively mixing and tuning themselves, in relation to the whole that they are hearing as they play. This is exactly why the foldback mix is so critical during tracking: we 100% cannot replicate in post the adjustments a player will make in realtime while they are playing the part in a given context. A foldback mix should be edited (tuned and retimed as needed) and mixed well enough to let the player know the context they are trying to fit into. You also often burn in any effects they are hearing because that is also the context they think they are playing into (comfort reverbs can be excusable not burning in, but a creative effect they are hearing should be printed at least in parallel). And the same applies in an orchestral setting, and many of the halls have installed reflectors specifically to help the musicians hear themselves and each other so they can fit into the whole context better. Adjusting effectively to that context is exactly what makes a musician good enough to be called into a recording session. Even so, this isn't absolutely necessary and all sorts of things can work together, perhaps not as well. If the musicians needed to hear the entire piece while they were playing it, sample libraries couldn't work at all then. I would say it's nice to have samples of whole sections when available, but again, with enough human skill in post, you can blend things from entirely different libraries into a coherent enough section...note the current emphasis on layering redundant samples from different libraries.

I'm so glad they listened to the customers' frustration and finally did this. However, the upgrade to the app should be free for all customers, not just people who buy this addon - and I can hardly believe that there's still no Staccato of all things. Legendary Low Strings has Staccato but there are none in Foundations or this addon.

We continuously strive to improve our products and will be putting more emphasis on this in the coming months. Updates will mostly be free for our customers and we always make sure to offer a good deal on add-ons and new features for existing customers.

I really wish they would stop with the libraries and fix their awful desktop app. If you try to use it on 2 different computers, the app cannot tell the difference between which is which. You could be fully updated on one computer, but not the other, and on both it'll say "Update" because the app has no clue where it is. It wouldn't take them that long to add it.

@@JohnCProductions neither I need the synths in Albion but there they are. And I don't dismiss a whole lib just bc it has something that I don't like/need. Asking for something for a product that already has another product but at the same time rejecting the last one because you see a part of it as unnecessary is a bit stupid. They are not going to give away the solo strings to those who have Core, betraying those who have purchased Pro in the process. If you want solo strings buy Pro or another lib with it.

Quick question for those who has a bunch of Spitfire libries - do you use an external SSD to store the libries - and how do you set it up so that I don't get any "hickups" while playing the samples?
@chrisrodenmusic
@chrisrodenmusic 5 ай бұрын
I use an external Samsung T7 SSD exclusively for Spitfire libraries. Just plug it in, make sure it's formatted properly (Mac OS (Journaled)) and fill it up!
@heart_of_a_Celt
@heart_of_a_Celt 5 ай бұрын
I have an external drive, they work great, just make sure it connects to USB 3, in terms of setup its just like a standard drive, ensure your spitfire library points to it and it's just like an internal drive,works perfectly for me. As sample libraries get bigger and bigger I think external drives are the only way to go and keep some storage left on your computer.
@heart_of_a_Celt
@heart_of_a_Celt 5 ай бұрын
I should also mention that on my Samsung external SSD drive when I try to install spitfire libraries on it Spitfire gives me a warning saying the drive is not suitable, Spitfire is the only sample library that does this to me. Anyhow I just ignore the warning and install anyway and its still works like a dream, just a heads up you make get that warning, not sure why as never had an issue after installing

I wish the other film scoring selection libraries had used single notes instead of octaves like this library. Also, I think the updated engine should have been a free update for abbey road one. It's not fair to ask users to pay you money for fixing your mistakes. I really like this library, but it feels like there were a lot of missed opportunities.

It seems like it, they seem to be more focused on making libraries that are (in my opinion) cashgrabs. If you want an alternative to LABS, I recommend "Vaults" by The Crow Hill Company, they release free samples every month.

Spitfire are so anemic these days. And I really do wish they would record their libraries louder. I always have to gun single instances. I appreciate that when there are many tracks with SA stuff on you end up with more volume but sometimes you just want to use SA stuff on a few tracks as said you have to faff with volume.

@@AlonsoJoaquinComposer You're probably right a lot of the time, for some time now you can see the cutting off of coupons and dividing the cake into smaller portions. Loyalty is not particularly rewarded, and promotions are not as exciting as they were years ago. Some of the older products need to be refreshed (as a minimum, interface improvements). Although I still think the company has huge potential and a fan base, I will probably end my purchases with Albion Solstice and start looking around for alternatives such as Strezov Sampling.
