I really like the idea of breaking down the libraries into smaller bite size options. Very accessible for people who don't have the need or finances to buy a full library. I have these now, and if a "High Strings" comes out, I'll be grabbing that too 👍

Thank you for the walkthrough. I just tried out Legendary Low Strings in my DAW and I am very happy with it. The legatos are very impressive and the short notes have so much power in them. Very nice indeed! Suggestion: Why not do an Abbey Road choir as well? You already have a big choir library, I know that, but imagine capturing the spirit of Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter or Star Wars (‘Duel Of The Fates’) with a fantastic choir library recorded at Abbey Road. It can just be oohs and aahs in the beginning. Then you can add more as time goes by. Another thing you could try is to “recreate” Symphonic Motions in Abbey Road. That would be fantastic! Anyway, I will stop rambling on. Thanks again for this ❤️ It’s great!

@fingerhorn4

It's not a wall of sound. It is just two sections of strings playing an octave apart. That isn't a "wall" of sound. Sometimes I think that people who buy these kind of samples have never been to an actual orchestral concert and don't possess a single orchestral CD or download. If you want a wall of sound have a listen to Mahler's 5th, 7th or 9th, or Daphne and Chloe by Ravel, or Tristan and Isolde (Wagner). A cello and bass an octave apart is not a wall. It is just one orchestral texture of hundreds.

Basses and cellos in unison certainly have their place. Is it appropriate for all situations? Of course not. BUT! When you need it, having them recorded together sounds much better than two separate sets of samples. I don't think there's any doubt about the fact that this library captures the "sound" of the Abbey Road Studio One. No question. But it still is being built out. I too am looking forward to a truly modular library so that I can have legatos for each individual instrument. When that happens, THEN I can hook it up to Dorico/Sibelius and really score it from there and then use these more "orchestrated" versions in the final Cubase project for added realism.

I really love this library ...it’s superior to some earlier products in the new to Spitfire entry level product range ...it’s sonically rich and a joy to play . It’s is substantial , expressive and super useful. For the price it really is a bargain and as part of a commercial structure , it possibly represents a brilliant formula for gradiently offering top class instruments to the budding composers or those who compose for fun. Despite some comments by the pundits...who must be deaf..the Air Studio .... air ..is uniquely unique and apparent to my ears.🙏👏👏👏👏🎩🥁🥁🥁🦄🎶🎶

Why would someone with foundations use the low strings in foundations if they have this? I’m confused because it seems like with legato you’re just making foundations obsolete. Can someone explain the difference between these low strings and the foundations one?
@quinn9598

Foundations longs can be played simultaneously, legato is only one voice at a time - there’s some value in that for people that like to record midi in directly I’d say

This sounds great, but WHY octaves!!? We finally get some legatos but it’s all octaves! If I wanted to write in octaves, I’d write in octaves! This is so frustrating. I want the Abbey Road library to be usable for more than one kind of music because no other library compares to the sound of this room, so you can’t just suggest BBCSO or SSO etc. I hope to god the high strings won’t be the same and we get some normal legatos!
@CelebratAudio
@CelebratAudio 3 жыл бұрын
it's because they're recorded together IN the room, when you layer the tracks you do have independent control but you won't have that in the room feel that they've created, I doubt if they record highs it will be the same though because high strings are a more soloists in nature
@MaestroMojo
@MaestroMojo 3 жыл бұрын
Nate Marcus. Playing/layering an octave sounds the same as a “recorded octave” when everything is recorded in the same room. The “room sound” is in each recording. It’s their mistake for recording it that way, because it limits usability.

mrcat-pixel. I really hope so. With Spitfire’s exclusive access to Abbey Road, it would be an affront if this amazing room and recording engineer was wasted on an Albion style library.
@fingerhorn4
@fingerhorn4 3 жыл бұрын
 @Mark Well said. At last, someone who agrees with me. Please see my excoriating comment above (or below). For goodness sake, if you need octaves, you can play them. Imposing octaves on you diminishes the value of any sample set by a factor of ten. Does Spitfire Audio not understand ANYTHING about orchestration? Octaves are the bastion of early and mid classical music. Even then that wasn't always so. After around 1750 (yes, over 250 years ago) composers realised that separating Basses from Cellos afforded a greater degree of sonic possibilities. As you say, and I repeat: YOU DO NOT NEED BAKED-IN OCTAVES, because you can PLAY them when or if you need them.
