Once Rimuru enters the Harvest Festival then he massively outclass Karrion because he became a True Demon Lord. Karrion would likely beat Rimuru here if he went SSJ4 at the start. Even Milim felt a little numb in her hand from his Roar attack in her Battle Mode, so it really shows the strength difference.

I love this clip so much or better said everything leading up to this clip Suphia arriving and insulting Rimuru head on, Shion loosing her cool and producing a bomb that would literally obliterate everything in that area (i read somewhere that its confirmed that that bomb would have destroyed everything and everyone in an around 5km radius) Suphia getting scared for her life and then Rimuru casually absorbing it. Its such a massive underhanded flex and you can see the fear and disbelief in the beastkeeters eyes when they realize that the insults in the beginning could have meant their death if rimuru took them to heart and that he was just humoring their actions up to this point

The thing is the journey of this guy is mostly about building his country, rather than pursuing power, so the OP part doesn't get focused on excessively, and the description of each small event in the story is very detailed, so even if there's not much show of power, it would still be able to get attention.

It's nice that they've also made it abundantly clear that while Rimuru is powerful, he's not unbeatable. He's already met several people who could take him out if pushed. I admit, I've only watched the anime, so I dunno if that changes, but it's a very good way of balancing the whole "overwhelmingly powerful hero" trope. And his personality, his methods, are also very refreshing. We see his people in action just as much as we see him in action, and that means there will always be stakes to every event.

Yes, it does seem the disparities are closing swiftly >_> Still, I know more will arrive because the alternative is the One Punch Man scenario but without the satire. Or the Superman scenario almost in it's entirety. A protagonist who doesn't have to try isn't an interesting protagonist :(

This is seriously my favorite anime. I love the amount of detail they put into the world and how they build the Jura Tempest Federation in a way that feels realistic (for a world like that). So many different things to find out still. What will happen to the kids? How wil veldora come back and what will happen if he does? How does one become a demon lord? Will rimuru become a demon lord one day?
