It just occurred to me… Why can’t Peridot shapeshift? I know she’s made all poorly and stuff, her not having abilities makes sense but why can’t she shapeshift? She is still made of light and she can still function like most other gems. What is stopping her form from taking a different shape? Yet another poorly explained plot hole within this show. Why and I not surprised…

We can only speculate that due to being era 2 and having less resources she just can’t do some things others gems can. Just like how she seems to not be able to summon a weapon she probably can’t shapeshift because of that lack of resources.
