I saw the original video which I thought was awesome! He’s a beautiful horse but it’s certainly obvious the seller misrepresented his demeanor. I’d love to see follow up videos on this horse’s progress. Love your channel!

Give him an all day job, weather it be riding fence in the mts or pulling a wagon or skidding logs. Work him every day all day until he don’t want to move his feet any more When he finally decides he just wants to stand still and relax. Let him stand and just pet and rub all over him for an hr or more then put him up. If he spooks at anything at all during the time you’re petting him. Put him back to work immediately! Work him again for at least 30 mins or hr. Then when he shows he wants to stop let him stop and relax and start petting and rubbing him all over. Do this for 30 days. If done correctly after it’s done he will always want to go to you because he knows when he moves his feet anyway other then to you he has to work

Thank you for being so honest and open. I learned a ton already! I’m excited to find the next video. Observations: It seems that the horse does like and “looks too” you and Ryan ….even though you two humans creep him out BAD. He sees you as a companion….a creepy companion but nonetheless. He’s in very good condition, He is a rancher/cowboy dream horse❤️! But🤔 maybe if he stayed outside, in a pasture, with a few FRIENDLY local horses and just ate some first cutting grass hay for a few weeks he could get his emotional “feet” back under him. Ya know, get “moved in”. He doesn’t buck well enough to get a lazy horse trainer to put a foundation on him 👆Corners have been cut! Please don’t put that horse on an airplane…ever. It was so wise of the owner to ask for an evaluation before exporting 🙌 Lets sit down with our German friend and discuss Quarter Horse/ Paint/ Appaloosa head shapes and the correlation with temperament. The characteristics are not the same in some of the European breeds. I mean this: His head shape is not a warning if your looking at a young Andalusian …but in an American breed …..well😒 Last 🤫….that just HAS to be a Playgun.

@horsetrainingpro ​I was thinking, în view of this coment that they mean the horse may have problems with inbreeding, as I've seen some horses have heads like this from being inbred. But it's not always the case

He reminds me so much of my favorite saddle pony. Difference being that she was 12.2, and he is a smidge bigger. Not trying to be difficult.. just reactive and no confidence.

I feel like something is missing. It’s like you’re looking at two different horses, which makes me think that maybe there’s something we don’t know. When I see drastic temperament changes like that my first two thoughts go to pain and then stress. So, it’s possible that there’s something underlying that could be causing him discomfort or pain to result in so much reactivity. Though he seems very healthy and in his prime and his movement looks good, even though he’s jumpy. That brings me to the second thought which is stress. Obviously he has just been through some major life changes in that he’s in a new place with new people, horses, food, etc. but with how unsure he seems it makes me wonder how his life was before he came to you. He may well be conditioned to being in a stressful environment. Not necessarily abused or neglected, but as you said and have shown, the environment you were in was largely calm, clean, and quiet. If he hasn’t been living in that type of environment and instead has been living a lifestyle that conditions him to be always alert and never relaxed then he would be unsure about everything and unable to allow himself to relax. I’d be interested to see how he behaves in his stall when no one is around - even in the short time at the beginning of the video before you opened the door and went in he was already looking around, ears alert, eyes wide. On a more positive note, it’s clear he is not completely lost in his fear. Even when you got him up to a loose canter in the round pen and he was verging on losing his cool, when you said “woah” he looked and listened and stopped. I bet he wants to trust you, he just might not be able to yet. We know how he is when he’s working from the other video. That’ll probably be your way in with him. Working gives him an outlet for his energy and clears his mind to hear you and listen. That moment in the round pen was big. Hope this helps. I’ve probably hit on things you’ve already seen for yourself. He’s a beautiful horse and I know you’ll do great work with him.

If you feed this horse high performance feed and supplements it a mistake...He needs clean feed that God made... clean Hay and clean oats no molasses or Hormones or sweet or high protein hay. Just a thought
