Every Brazilian metalhead have at some point at his life been obsessed with Angra, they are like our heroes that proved we can rock as hard as any American or European band. They've been through many different formations, each one with it's particularities and I'm blessed to love every one. The thing is, they have so many hits that every fan will have different songs to recommend. These are some of my favorites that I believe encapsulate a little bit of everything the band has to offer: Nothing to Say Carolina IV OMNI - Silence Inside Late Redemption Holy Land Insania Spread Your Fire Morning Star Nova Era Sprouts of Time (the most underrated one from their catalog imo)

Yeah, Angra is Midori's favorite band, they are huge in Japan, much more than even in Brazil. One of my favorite japanese bands, called Unlucky Morpheus (I don't know if you already check them out) also has Angra as a big inspiration and they have a song called Carry On Singing To The Sky that is a posthumous tribute to Andre Matos too.

A very promising release from their upcoming album. Angra often strikes this beautiful balance of heavy, nasty prog with melodic sections in-between. The video packs an extra emotional punch for Angra fans, as the boy is a representation of former vocalist Andre Matos, who left the band in 2000 and in 2019 tragically passed away at 47 years old.

Angra represents a lot for the brazilian metal scene, it is one of the biggest metal bands over here and they have 30 years of history with many different phases, they change the lead singer 3 times and the last singer is the famous italian singer Fabio Lione who was a member of another famous metal band Raphasody of fire from Italy, all the phases of Angra are very unique and you can barely tell is the same band if you listen the phases separately, It is definitely a rabbit hole to be explored, the first album from Angra I would recommend to be listened is the one called The Temple of Shadows (songs: the temple of hate, shadow hunter, spread your fire). About this videoclip, the boy that appears on it its a reference to the first and classic Angra lead singer, that passed away in 2019 at the age of 49, Andre Matos, I would recommed you to listen the song Carry On btw that is the most famous Angra song sang by Andre Matos

Angra has been and always will be my favorite progressive metal band. They are simply the best. All versions of Angra are phenomenal. Very few bands can compete with the musicianship of Angra. With different members throughout the years they have always been at their peek.

Angra is a gem,simply❤As a fan, I could consider the albums and stages at length here, however, enjoy and draw your conclusions. You may like Holy Land more or less, but you certainly won't leave it indifferent. Likewise, it has already been said here by another fan, that Temple of Shadows is a masterpiece. I am not a musician, I'm just a person who loved power metal all his life, it's my favorite genre of music and this will never change. With this being out of the way, with all respect to the band, I love Angra and think this is a return to 2000-era, which is what I want this band to be at. However I don't think Fabio Lione's vocals are being given much room to be appreciated the same way they were during his Luca Turilli phase, and thus they're missing the point of having Fabio Lione on the band. Old Rhapsody was never about this much speed, the band was more symphonic and the instrumentals would never interrupt his vocals the same way they do in here. Fabio was not made to be competing with this cacophony of intrumentals. My grain of salt. I still love this, I love Angra and I want Angra to succeed.
