Out Of Nowhere is an essential standard which every jazz student should have in their ear and under their fingers. Let's discuss...
In this analysis video we will discuss key signatures, time signatures and structure before moving on to a full harmonic analysis of this jazz standard by Green/Heyman. We discuss major, harmonic minor and natural minor scales as well as talking about comping and voicing ideas informed by the melody. Finally I share some improvisation tips as we throw the scales we have already discussed straight out the window!! Good luck

I had this tune on my mind since doing this video and found a different version in I believe the 4th edition which does include the b9 on that E7 chord. Unsure whether the 6th edition is a typo (of which there are many others) or a deliberate amendment... Haven't seen any videos from you this week, all well? Cheers
