A great song, melody and chords from Johnny Greene, lyrics Edward Heyman. One of my favourite tunes and chord progressions ever. Apparently the chord progression has been used in other compositions too. Checkout the Star Trek theme! Thanks again Sven. Always helpful and especially at the moment.

always loved this tune and great to hear your analysis Sven beautifully articulated. Learned so much in this concentrate dose, thanks! Don't be afraid to make an alternative ''stochelo'' type advice session where you don't talk any theory at all... just the physical and the sonic. For those of us who work entirely by ear and eye we can move much faster with just rapid physical demonstrations. But nwurries.. great vid this ---- as ever.

Hi Sven, if Eb7/9 (2nd chord) would come from Gminor then it would be Ebmaj7 no? so its something else...

Correct, it's not borrowed from minor nor negative harmony; the second Eb7 is a tritone sub for the secondary dominant (A7) while the first is a double diminished chord. Jens Larsen has a good video on the harmony of this tune: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpeuaYifg6mWnsU
