@legallybadatseeing Personally, I'm legally blind but can see fine with corrective lensing. Are you the same or 💯 blind? Just wondering.
@legallybadatseeing2 ай бұрын
@@nocturnalrecluse1216 so technically you’re legally blind if you have 20/200 or worse vision in your best eye, with corrective lenses (at least in the US). For me, glasses don’t make any difference. I’m not completely blind, but I do have 20/400 vision in my better eye & the other can only perceive light. 🫶🏻

First time sleeping together { said he was Great Because of all the "" Hands on"" he was LOL} then the Next morning after a very Busy Night he was feeling Her Breast and burst out laughing so Hard he was crying.. Once he calmed down he said " Im sorry Baby But the Bumps around your nipple read ... MORE... in Brail." Just keep laughing at the silly, stupid or Misunderstand stuff. You rock

Cyclists who say "look where you're going" after almost running over a pedestrian have a lot of nerve. If you're a cyclist, then you're a vehicle and you must yield to pedestrians and you also should be on the road, if possible.

Surprisingly, there are quite a few blind and visually-impaired amateur radio hobbyists. In a radio club my wife (Anne, callsign is WB1GVL) and I were officers in, we had 3 club members who were either totally blind or were severely visually-impaired impaired. Two of them lived about a mile from us, and were in need of a ride to the local stores. Both Lou and Darla had guide dogs, and were very independent around town, but, their dogs would guide them straight to the pet food and rawhide chews in the store! We were more than happy to help them with the shopping. I was shocked at first as to the absurd level of ignorance displayed by the general public. I still am, but almost expect it nowadays. I would hope that you have a circle of friends & family for support. Keith (WB2VUO) in Amherst, NY

I too am legally blind. Last year after a visit to the ophthalmologist, who told me I was still blind, on the way out I ask her to repeat her name when she was standing about four or 5 feet from me. Even though she had just examined my eyes and thoroughly reviewed my records, instead of saying her name, she pointed at her name tag. Unfortunately, I don’t think this was a joke. I just think it was a lack of empathy.
@RobespierreThePoof2 ай бұрын
I don't think that's a lack of empathy. It's best not to judge absent-mindedness harshly, unless you want people to do the same to you when you have an absent minded moment. Opthalmologists usually have an extremely crammed outpatient clinic schedule. When you work in that kind of situation, the occasional social faux pas is completely understandable.

@JohnMeadows-e6h2 ай бұрын
Its not lack of empathy. Just a derp moment. We're so used to own normal perception, that even limitations that we are fully aware of will slip our mind momentarily. It can actually be dangerous, like those police who tackled and tasered a deaf man for not obeying verbal instructions.
@wbwarren572 ай бұрын
@@JohnMeadows-e6h I would like to agree with your, but the doctor in question had just spent 20 minutes examining my eyes, giving me a vision test (which only goes up to 20/400 when my vision is worse), and discussing my condition with me. On the plus side for the doctor, it is only my central vision that is affected; my color vision is mostly okay, and my peripheral and night vision (unlike my poor brother who has the same condition but much worse) are mostly okay. So, though I am legally blind and cannot drive, I don't look or act blind because in most cases my vision is more than adequate. The fact that eye doctors only measure to 20/400 vision and not worse is a sore point with me - I would like to know what my vision actually is (not just "somewhere worse than 2/400") so I can tell if it is still getting worse.

I don't know if I trust optometrists on what's "legally blind." They won't tell me what my eyesight is any more, (it was 'worse than 20/400, back in the day) but say I'm legally blind, but with my glasses I have nearly 20/20 vision. For the last one, I don't blame the guy. We see in movies, TV shows, news reports and documentaries of blind people touching other people's faces to get a feel for them. It sounds like an honest question and your response of "nope, and we're not gonna" just sounds like you're setting yourself up to be single for life.
@legallybadatseeingАй бұрын
@@grondhero Firstly, what constitutes legal blindness is very clearly defined. It’s measured by the visual acuity of your best eye with corrective lenses. I also have 20/400 vision, but glasses do not correct that. If glasses correct your vision to nearly 20/20, you are not legally blind. Secondly, just because something is portrayed repeatedly in media does not change the fact that it’s a wildly uniformed stereotype and the number of people here who don’t understand why it’s offensive to assume a blind person wants to feel your face is really disheartening. I think my boyfriend of five years would disagree with you about how much feeling that way disqualifies me from having a relationship though. 🫶🏻
@grondheroАй бұрын
@@legallybadatseeing Again, even most documentaries will mention it, which is why it's an honest question, but you're butt-hurt about someone wanting to be educated. Good luck with your relationship, but if he's a boyfriend still after five years....
@legallybadatseeingАй бұрын
@@grondhero Not butt-hurt just not interested. Firstly, documentaries have perpetuated plenty of inaccurate stereotypes through history. While I’ve never seen a blind person feeling faces in a documentary, even if you have, it doesn’t make it factual. Secondly, it wasn’t a sincere question. It was a joke that I didn’t find funny. We had already had conversations about how I could very much see what he looked like. It seems more like you’re butt-hurt that I decided I didn’t like the guy and didn’t want to pursue things with him. Also way to make it clear you have some archaic ass ideas about relationships. Plenty of people don’t want to get married. Clutch your pearls about it. 🙄

Being "in the pocket" is being in the groove, or doing things the way that feels good or whatever "out of pocket" refers to when you're not in the groove and something is goofy or weird essentially. Not sure if these etymologies are linked though, there's several uses for the phrase and sometimes they all exist in a vacuum. I typed all that and looked it up and it actually is a reference to POOL, with "out of pocket" referring to not hitting a ball into the pocket. So there ya go, a 4th meaning for the phrase.
