I found Camp Nowhere & Ernest Goes to Camp in blu ray for $5 @ 7/11 a few years ago. I saw it in theaters 30 years ago. Your Mall story is my childhood memories.

I dont usually pay OOP prices since I buy most of what I want soon as I can but a few months back I paid a bit more for the Hellraiser Quartet of Torment 4k box set (Chaterer artwork). If I miss on a movie & the BD is more than $40 I’ll just get the DVD for super cheap.

The prices are all over the place. So if you want something just keep checking back and you'll eventually get a good price.

Detroit rock city, got that when it was regular priced at 9.99. Prob overpaid for paramount release of Breakdown as it was a stronger transfer than the umbrella multi region edition. I sat on it when it was 14.99 ugh, but thankfully I have a fair amount that are rare. I know some of the older Sony blu rays are started to become harder to find, and I tend to seek those out as I know Echo Bridge tend to release crappier versions and the older Sony ones have a stronger sound mix and picture quality like Anaconda, Cruel Intentions, Go, Little Women

The most I ever paid for oop title was twilight time the mad magician in 3d for my 3d collection. Paid 117 for a sealed copy. An been looking for years for the zavvi dvd blood steelbook of 30 days of night . An one finally came up for sale and I paided 150 for it out of the uk.

I bought the Kino blu-ray of Cadillac Man on eBay right after it went OOP, brand new for $14.95. It looks like it is going for $70+ now.

I purchased the original Arrow Video "window box" versions of Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead for $100 from a FB seller. I still think I got a great deal. There's the old story of most of the copies of Dawn of the Dead being lost to a warehouse fire. True? Who knows? But, it's a great story.

I used to think people were nuts paying big money for movies on the aftermarket, but upon deeper thought, it's fine. I remember dropping $65 (when new games were usually $50) to FunCoLand back in the day to buy this obscure PS2 game on Day 1 called Victorious Boxers. I'm a long time boxing fan and I was thirsty for any boxing game I could get. It ended up being my favorite PS2 boxing game, so I didn't regret the purchase. I have had some titles end up OOP that I would've loved to have had that I'm not willing to pay aftermarket prices for, but I understand when people do. I want the Cynthia Rothrock Martial Law films, but I'll wait for someone to eventually put them back out.

The problem I have is that the main reason this happens a lot of time is that resellers buy up tons of copies at release, forcing it to go out of stock sooner than later.

I bought the movie Spun last year for $38.00 I'm lucky I found the Underworld 4k box set for $49.99 at a store. I have no holds bar on bluray and detriot rock city bluray.

I picked up the Arrow Killer Klowns after the Scream Factory 4K came out (which I also got, of course) for $34 shipped. I probably could've waited a bit and maybe got it cheaper, but I'm happy enough with it because it came with the slip in great condition and it looks like new, and a few months ago it was regularly going for $60+ used from what I saw. I've picked up a handful of other OOP titles, but nothing crazy. Someone recently sold me Evils of the Night with slip sealed for $25 shipped, which, for that movie, felt like the appropriate price, especially given that even during their recent sale, their non-slip copy was $20. Which, that movie sucks, and I wouldn't recommend it, but I kinda enjoy it for some reason. I've definitely gotten some great deals on OOP titles, but nothing mind-blowing off the top of my head.

I got a sealed Detroit rock city recently as well. Yeah I guess the plastic wrap on them is real cheap. I also had to look up the main menu to make sure it wasn't a boot leg copy. Since the menu looks boot leg.😂😂

Dang $225 but the movie being limited to 1000 it's hard to find comps to know how good a deal it is. I have a lot of media books and I don't know if they're valuable or not because they are so limited.

Cool video and topic. I haven't gone too crazy on OOP titles/prices. I kept skipping the NY Ninja big box bc I watched it blind with no context on Paramount Plus and thought it was awful, but then I learned more about it recently and was like "Damn, now I want it so I can read that booklet." I paid $50 shipped, so not too bad, but I'm a VS subscriber so I could've had it for I want to say $40, maybe a little lower at some point. I'm one bothered by not getting movies at the lowest price, although I'm not counting when you buy a movie at a good price, then a year or two later it's cheaper. I mean you missed a sale for $10 and end up paying $15 later even though it's in print. That kinda annoys me.

What’s worse than anything I paid for an OOP title was paying around $41 (includes shipping) for Unlawful Entry, a bare bones blu-ray released by Shout Factory. I swear, it felt like I was buying an OOP title. 😂

Paid $500 OOP factory sealed 8 DVD 2004 box set of INTO EVIDENCE the JFK murder there's a copy on eBay for $700 right now and that copy was used my copy is factory sealed so I may try and sell mine and see what I can get
