Amen to this and in my opinion, the beautiful precious is the complete and total package. It isn't just about his singing for me. I just wish that I had found him sooner. Sadly I didn't know who I was missing out on until it was too late with him being gone now and I couldn't be anymore sick and ashamed of how late I myself am in finding him..........so you can imagine what it does to me whenever I hear him sing in this song, "Why do I keep looking for you when I know you have gone?" (trying not to cry again) God bless you and his family always!!! Holly in East Tennessee

The beautiful precious may not be here anymore, but his voice still is. I thank him so much for not taking it with him. Not only do I listen to him every day, but I have gathered just about every song that I am aware of him ever singing, I love him SO much!!! I just wish that I had discovered him before his going forward. Then I could tell him to his face that I love him so much. (trying not to cry again) God bless you and his family always!!! Holly in East Tennessee

Mystery KZbinr+ Billy Joe had a great, great singing voice and he took good care of it as evidenced by his lengthy career. Cherry Hill Park was a good one, but personally my favorite of his was "I Knew You When" back in 1965. So nice we can listen to his voice on KZbin. Takes me back to a time and place I truly loved. Has anyone invented the "Wayback Machine" yet? I remember Mr. Peabody and Sherman were working on it "wayback" when!

+Barbara Simpson I don't mean to be forward here, but I have a question about him if you don't mind since you say here that you and him were friends. I read in the one of the write ups about his passing that Billy Joe was married three times and that each of the marriages ended in divorce. If that is all true, can I ask what happened? I ask because even though I heard a fair deal of his singing when I was a little kid, I didn't know who I was missing out on until his going forward and from what I have seen of him so far, Billy Joe does NOT strike me as the cheating kind of male, so all that I have done ever since is shake my head in sheer bewilderment. What in the world happened with him? God bless you and his family always!!! Holly in East Tennessee (age 33) P.S. I couldn't be anymore ashamed of how long it took me to discover him all on my own, I love him SO much!!!! (trying not to cry again)

One time he gave me a few shirts. My mom also sent Billy a Set of Civil War books. He told us that he did get them and loved them. I still can't believe that he's gone.
