Lewis Noble has lived and worked in Derbyshire since 1996. His focus lies in the physical and emotional impact of the landscape on the senses and the effect this experience has on us.

This is The Painting for me. I paint with few large shapes, but I have been reluctant to do it on my very large canvases, 48 by 48, 60 by 60. I am so encouraged, and will have a go soon. Thank you, Lewis!

I love the simplicity of the composition. Is it done in oils or acrylics?

Love the organic energy with this! Would you mind giving me your thoughts about varnishing? I really dislike the shiny plastic look that most varnish creates (even satin) and find it so hard to get an even coverage. I'm reading conflicting article about whether it's really even necessary with acrylics. Thanks as always. Love your work.
