Apulian Knife: the circle walk - Part 1
How to use the lessons/figures of the school (form) to walk the circle. Let's start with a few very basic figures:
Saluto (salute)
Tre passi in mezza luna (three half moon steps)
Salto d'assalto (assault)
Passetti striscianti (sliding steps)
Cambio guardia (change of guard)
Tre passi d'inserimento (three insertion steps)
The circle walk has different purposes:
One can study the opponent; position himself strategically; create new angles for attack and defense, but most of all IT IS A TOOL the teacher can use to get the movements easier into the student's mind and body: the teacher performs and the student copies.
Therefore, my little and very short English poem concerning the Italian knife fight:
"School, tool!"
Stay strong and tuned! Forza!
