I got to SVZ through Bruce, huge fan, loved both Stevie’s albums in the 80’s, young then, never understanding the political meaning and then I got older and loved Men Without Women and Voice of America even more, now more than ever he needs to go on tour and sing these songs

THAT concert got me hooked with Little Steven!!! We recorded it on a cassette tape, holding a crap mic to the TV screen. (I still have the tape and cannot play anymore **lol**). Goodness, time surely has passed. 😳

I recorded it on VHS live on TV, still have that tape it still plays and looks great nearly four decades on...watched it many times back then. Now of course, it's also been released on DVD with the 1982 Rockpalast concert.

I saw him in Paris a few years later, we were about 200 in attendance. And he shook the ground… That's where I met Stiv Bators, who had produced his latest, three weeks before his untimely death…

I was fortunate to see this band in San Fransisco 1984. All the band members are stellar performers. The bass was so loud that my chest thumped.

Was this about escaping Springsteen's darkness, i.e. Darkness on the Edge of Town, The River, and Nebraska, each more depressing than the one before? Irony being that Born in the USA after Van Zandt left finally had the sort of sound and popular success he wanted, thereby eclipsing his own efforts.

I'm from the east part of Germany and I can't see any reason to join a concert with the flag of DDR. With that regime we would have never had freedom like this. So happy those days of Erich and his crazy Stasi are over. Great concert!!!

UUF i wish I hadn't seen that! This is going to be nightmare matter, 💯and I love Steve. But this is Horrific. It's like watching an orangutan doing Nijinsky's movements and probably the orangutan would make more harmonious moves and graceful gestures than our loved Steve.

I like the guy personally but I sure can't stand that 80's sound! There doesn't seem to be any Melodies In the music he's doing.
