The piano intro alone is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard; a heartbreakingly melodic expression of pure emotion. For me, it’s a work of genius (as is the rest of the song) I’ll never tire of it.

Him, and often Mark Knopfler, for me (the live versions of Knopfler's Speedway at Nazareth are probably the most visceral musical experience I've ever had). And of course, it's not just them, it's also the musicians they surround themselves with - that, too, is part of the magic, I think.

So true Bruce Springsteen is a musical genius. So is the first rock band Bruce saw in concert in Atlantic City new Jersey. THE WHO and Bruce wanted to be like them. PETE TOWNSHEND is a musical genius. I live at the Jersey shore just down the parkway from where Bruce lives cape may new Jersey. I heard a interview with Bruce talking about how seeing the who live. He had to be a rock star. Saw Bruce 4 times and the WHO 5 TIME'S. They are the greatest rock bands ever ever. Still all these years later no rock band comes close.

What? The song has nothing to do with 2 guys(not that there is anything wrong with it), he repeatedly describes terry as "she" and " little girl", bruce stated in his book its about a broken friendship. If you want to take it that way, its ok. Thats not what the song is about. Well, according to the guy that wrote it.

@@briancrawford7981 listen again. He never says little girl. He says Terry. We swore forever friends. Not boyfriend/ girlfriend. Running for our lives at night on the Backstreets.
