We used Rhino hoses with super good luck, as part-timer ours lasted 4-5 years. I did switch to the Thetford, I agree with the compression, however as I get older and my hands not as able to grip as well the thetford hose is better. My valterra valve, for the same reason, I used a narrow piece of Gorilla tape just on the connection pins area, approx 1/2 way around. I'll probably have to replace it this season, but it worked great to keep it from popping off (don't ask how I know this 🙄🤢) Thankfully that happened on grey water! LOL

I was curious how the Bilsteins were. I have a 2017, bought it used, and it has the FX4 package on it so it’s the Rancho shocks that come with the FX4 pkg. It now has 74k on it and I was thinking of going with those instead of replacing with Rancho. We also have a gasser as well with the 6.2 engine, and I’m coming from a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi.

Never, ever flush with the black valve shut. Meant for empty tank flushing with the valve open. Bad advice. Note the caution sticker. The Mopeaka propane tank level sensors work great. Try them. Oh yea, ask Kevin about flushing with the black valve shut. He flooded his unit with black water a couple of months ago.
@RVUntethered9 ай бұрын
We spoke with some Grand Design techs at the rally and they told us that it was okay, but a timer and flow meter were pertinent. To your point, the flooding is something that we fear. We like to put about ten gallons in the tank and the pressure helps release some gunk.
@markreynolds95709 ай бұрын
@@RVUntethered Kevin has a video out where he flooded his rv with blackwater doing exactly that. So its bad advice directly from GD? I would not follow that.
@PavingNewPaths9 ай бұрын
@@markreynolds9570 We have always flushed with the valve closed the idea is to fill the tanks so that you can move the solids out. Just running water through it without filling it won't always get everything out! We also explained in that video why we over flowed, the park was doing water repairs and it was taking 15 minutes to fill the tank, well when they finished what they were doing it only took 7 minutes to fill the tank! So even with my timer, it is still a good idea to check the flow meter to see just how much is going in the tank!

We keep one open and one closed. Question, if the valve is in the middle position does it open both tanks? I just keep one closed so I know I have a full one
@RVUntethered9 ай бұрын
We have never mess with the switch, but it is set to pull from both tanks, so we keep one shut off. It isn’t necessarily the RIGHT way, but it’s how we’ve done it.
@jjones54249 ай бұрын
1 tank open 1 tank closed. 👍 Let Kevin know this:..... the lever simply points to which tank it pulls propane from first, if both valves are open, then when one tank is empty, it will AUTOMATICALLY start pulling from the 2nd tank. Putting the lever in the "middle" does nothing. As you have found, using this method means when 1 tank is out, BOTH tanks are out!! It is called a "auto-change over valve".
