Welcome Home! Hope your Mum & you had a Fantastic Chrissy & New🎊Year ✨So it pays to do your homework when renovating when replacing stonework/lime mortar, lime plastering & lime washing✨ 🌟Great Advice🤗🌟 Your Snug is really L👀KING F🤩BO🫶 The deep plum (if you can get the the tint mix right) would look beautiful on the Fireplace Wall, like an added feature bringing warmth to the eyes. Whatever you decide I know you will be happy as you have to live in your Home! Your such wonderful Humanitarians with taking care of GOD’s little creatures- maybe Midnight (for short MIDDY) 🌈🥰🙌👏👏👏👏🇦🇺

The house I am looking at next week is over 100 years old and judging from the pictures I've seen hasn't ever been modernised. It still has it's original terracotta tiles on the floor! I am thinking of going down the conservation not modernisation route. Like you said, there's not many untouched places left.

I wish I’d had your Fitville discount about a month ago when I ordered boots and house shoes. I love the house shoes that are fur lined and warm with good support. Haven’t worn the boots yet. Happy New Year

The snug is looking fabulous. Can’t wait to see if the 2 more packets of pigment does the trick for the fireplace paint. Always lovely to see you two. Thanks for the information on the lime Andy, I appreciate your knowledge. Sharon, your neighbor must be so happy he moved in next door to you as you have filled a great need in his rescue. Love of animals is so special. Have a blessed 2025.

Looking forward to seeing the plum on the fireplace Sharon! I know you will be closing in that doorway. A bookcase would be good in that area with a cabinet with doors on the bottom and shelves on top. Love the rustic old charm you have kept on the Finca. That’s why I enjoy watching so much. Would a 'Damp Course' not help these old Spanish buildings perhaps Slate ? new cats name = Elsie
@FincaLifeКүн бұрын
lol, no. The problem ,probably 99% is condensation caused by incorrect materials used on solid (ie no cavity) walls. Google 'no such thing as rising damp'. The other 1% is probably caused by water ingress. Secondly, how would you insert a slate damp course in a 150 year old rubble stone wall that's 2 feet thick? There is no need. Look at any canal, with brick lined walls, bridges or even tunnels - They are not damp, even though they are sat in water! The only 'rising' damp is caused by the wash from passing boats. It's a very interesting and contentious topic. There are very interesting articles by Stephen Boniface and Peter Ward of Heritage House. Elsie is a nice name for the cat.

@@FincaLife I disagree rising damp is there for all to see in every part of the world. Anyone who disagrees simply take away the damp course or stack soil above the damp course of there house? 100% it is there just waiting to rise.
