Outback GEMS On The Birdsville Track!! Clayton Station & Farina Campgrounds

We revisit some gems we have visited once before!!
We start off by leaving Parachilna Gorge after upgrading our Tyres in Port Augusta. We then Head to Farina Station Campgrounds. We had originally only planned to stay the one night there but after discovering there was a Dawn Service the following morning we decided to stay an extra night to attend the service.
Ater the dawn service we packed up and headed to Marree to try source some water/supplies we needed. No luck on the water front. With what we had we decided we could get through so we pushed on through to Clayton Station. Which is just a short drive up the Birdsville Track.
At Clayton Station we had the campgrounds to ourselves except for a couple travellers pulling in for a shower or to check out the location. The bath is always amazing but the addition of two new showers had us very excited. These showers did not disappoint! They were probably the best showers weve ever had!!
Highly recommend stopping at both Farina and Clayton Station!!

Just came across you guys. Great content. Congrats. What speed did you average on the Birdsville and Oodnatta tracks? Heading out that way late September.

Birdsville track we only went up to Clayton station but the little bit from Marree to there was brilliant. We still took it pretty easy though at around 60km/h. Oodnadatta track was horrible between Marree and William Creek and I think we would have averaged around 30-40km/h. From William Creek to Oodnadatta we would have been a bit faster because the track was a lot better but there was so many creek crossings and flood ways so had to slow down a lot… would get up to speed and have to slow down again!! All part of the fun!!
