I’m a Subbie tech. This is the first Subaru I knew I had to have. Geyser blue ‘23. Love this thing. I have 2 German Shepherds and a place in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. I’m in the Chicagoland area. It makes the roughly 350 mile trip w decent mileage. That’s w a topper, 3 adults, 2dogs and gear.

Cracked me up when he said " I have a scratch ! " You better get it wrapped if you care about scratches . But overall good overall setup. Thanks for the video
@OBWAdventures25 күн бұрын
I'm collecting scratches lol. I always thought a wrap would be worse in a scratch-prone environment. Isn't a tear in the wrap more noticeable than a scratch in paint?

Great video, thanks for posting! I'm always looking at upgrades for my '24 OBW. That perfect combination of cost vs reward is the concern, just like most everybody else. 🙂. I'm curious to see what you do with the front, as far as a winch goes.

Just some square head nuts from amazon and the L brackets that came with the awning.

23 OBW owner here and my second Subaru. Before I bought my OBW, I bought a 2012 Impreza wagon at 11k miles back in 2013 and drove it till 2023 when I sold it (210k miles) to buy my OBW. I have not ran into any CVT issues at all. Took it to my local Subaru dealer and everything including fluids and maintenance are done by them. It has been super reliable with no issues at all. I don't understand the CVT problem, but maybe I was the lucky one or I just kept up with maintenance.

How often did you had the CVT fluid changed? (Drain/Fill)
@ZzmaerD6 ай бұрын
@@The777heavy At 80k, I took it in for the first CVT fluid change at the dealer, then at 160k I took it back in for inspection and fluid change. During the inspection, they said it's still in excellent condition and there is no need for a new tranny or further replacements of parts, just fluid. I just followed up with the regular routine when it needs to be change. Before I sold it, it's still feels like day 1 with no issues. Hope this helps out.

Thanks for the post. I've done some *minimal* modding to my '22 OBW, but I think the lift is going to be next on the list. I want to be able to run 245s when I have to replace the current tires... good to know that the lift gets rid of the rubbing.

The car build looks great, nice video! I was just wondering how the noise of your new tires were like, do you / your family notice any difference? I was considering upgrading to the same size 245/65/R17, but torn between a couple different brands of AT Tires.

Looking good outback. Have a 2023 obw, curious about the tire carrier, did you fold the pinch weld seam before inserting the anti wobble of the rigid tire carrier?
@OBWAdventures7 ай бұрын
Yes. I cut a couple of notches on either side of the hitch channel and then used a pry bar and hammer to fold it down ever so slightly until it fit.

Do you notice if your hood light brackets vibrate at all? Either at idle or driving?
@OBWAdventures2 ай бұрын
Never vibrate
@lbwilliams442 ай бұрын
@@OBWAdventures Ok, thank you for the response. Not sure what brand mine are, came with the car. But they are one of the single hole designs (one hole is over-sized so the nut doesn't actually hold it to the hood), driver side light vibratres like crazy and I can't stand it. Might have to give the LP brackets a go.

Infotainment is VERY Glitchy!! We have a 2020. Mechanically a great car. Very comfortable to drive. We will buy another. However, if you connect an iPhone to the USB you will experience reboots and other glitchy behavior. At times the screen will go dark and it will reboot. Feature will disappear and not come back until you shut off the car.
@OBWAdventures5 ай бұрын
Mine has gotten less glitchy since the update to the infotainment software. I also bought a new usb cable that seems to fit tighter than the old one and that helps, too.
