The gold rush is on! Metal detecting for gold nuggets and specimen

We travel full time on the hunt for gold. New detecting areas are always intriguing and this spot proves itself on day one. Not only are there gold nuggets in the creeks but also on the vast flats. The best gold find though is a big specimen that looks like chocolate and gold. Gotta love Outback Australia!

Q. Have either of you ever tried using an ELECTROSCOPE to find gold? I was very curious as to whether those things actually work so I bought one (never a half measures person, me) I set it up as per the manual and I set it spinning. It was set to find diamonds. It stopped rotating when pointing accurately to the only place in my house where I have what's only *suspected* to be a tiny diamond was located! I took the machine to show my father and set it to detect gold. Moments later it stopped spinning and was pointing directly at him, he was wearing his gold ring and again that was the only gold in the room. Its not proof but I suspect these things do work rather than don't. Something I noticed years ago was that when I made myself a set of dowsing rods from metal coathangers & biro pen barrels, I sat holding one of those and it rotated 360Deg by itself, so I tipped it slightly off horizontal and it continued to rotate. I thought THATs ODD - how & why it is doing that??? It should surely slow down & stop through friction & gravity because I'm not making it spin, I was holding it as steadily as I possibly could and the thing kept freely rotating... The next video I watched was of a guy using his electroscope to find gold he'd buried in a plastic bag in his garden. When he was standing **directly over it** guess what happened. It rotated continuously, just as my dowsing rods had done at home. I'm in an old house. I should probably check under my floorboards!
