Hi great video! I am also an owner of BF30. FYI there is another internal anode, the same like the one you changed, from the other side behind the manifold assembly . Much harder process to change it, so lets forget about it for now. But if you ever disassembly this part i.e. for carburetors cleaning, think of that! Greetings!

That’s interesting because I thought there was but when I went to get the parts at my local Honda dealer they told me there was only the one I did. Mind you it wasn’t one of their mechanics that I was talking to. Might have to query this again next time I am in there.

Hi there, I have a question about the water temperature of the tell-tale It's cold on my BF30D. I know that there is also cooling water through the propeller that leaves the engine now i have problems with overheating. The waterways are probably clogged, and the cylinder head has to be removed to be able to clean everything properly. The area under the thermostat was very dirty. water pump has been replaced and the water jet is powerful . Actually I'm a bit afraid to disassemble the cylinder head. I serviced the carbaratures and timeingbelt but still...... thanks in advance, Dennis from Holland
@AusAdventure2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dennis my tell tale is fairly cold also. If you have already cleaned all the easy to access cooling galleries you may need to remove the head. My advice would be to seek advice from your local Honda service agent. Good luck.

Thanks for the quick response, I'll do a full speed test, maybe the problem is fixed. Dennis

Any tips/tricks on that cowling seal? Lost mine in the water. Have a new one and it seems damn near impossible to get on.
@AusAdventure3 жыл бұрын
The most important thing is to make sure it going on the right way. I started to put it on inside out and it’s impossible. When I realised and turned it out the correct way it was so much easier. Also leave it in the sun for a while to warm it up or use a hair dryer which makes it softer and easier to work with. Good luck.
@toddl56673 жыл бұрын
@@AusAdventure there's the problem. It looks like it should go on inside-out. It seems to naturally want to be inside-out as well. Flipped it and got it snug.

Hey mate, recently bought a 2013 bf30 and your vids have helped a heap with servicing etc, was wondering what speed you get on your motor, and what prop your using as i need a new one, cheers 👍🏼
@AusAdventure3 жыл бұрын
Hi Isaac. The top speed I get is 25 knots with not much weight in the boat. If I’m loaded up on a camping trip it tops out at 21 knots. I just have the standard prop which came with the motor from new. Glad the vids have been helpful. 🍻

All you could do is double check the gear lever is adjusted properly. With out seeing your engine it is difficult for me to diagnose the problem. you will probably have to take it to your local marine mechanic.

About to do first time maintenance on an engine BF50A that I don’t think it’s been serviced in quite a while. My question is since I’m replacing the thermostat I will check it for debris and check the anode like you did in this video my feeling it’s may have a lot of muck/ sand in there because it has been operated in shallow water sandy bottom. Also do you think it’s absolutely necessary to replace that water jacket gasket or do you think the one that you removed would’ve been OK if maybe just lubricated? I suppose I would just have to check the gasket and make a call then and also the same with the anode. I do not have an impact screwdriver how tight was that screw do you think? On the anode I mean. 2004 BF50A Thanks Dooley
@AusAdventure3 жыл бұрын
Hi Doolie. Definitely clean out as much debris as you can from the cooling gallery. You will just have to inspect the seal and make a call as to its condition and replace it if necessary. That Anode screw was incredibly tight and you will have a lot of trouble without an impact driver so my advice would be to buy one. Good luck with the service.

Initially I was told there was only one on the exhaust side. However I believe there is one on the intake side but you have to pull a lot of stuff off to get to it. Will have to confirm that with a Honda mechanic though.
