It was one of the coolest things at the 2017 ICAST, a outboard powered paddle board. Corey Cooper of Bote gave me a overview of the new Bote Rover. The Rover went on to win the ICAST best of show.

Looks like another Pelican Ambush, Conch Paddle Skiff, or....solo skiff. Kinda cool, but not a lot of folks are going to shell out 5-6k for something like this (or those others) when a used gheenoe will go everywhere this will for a lot less coin. Still pretty cool.

This is awesome, except for the price. When you consider the additional cost of the motor, accessories (e.g., cooler, extra fuel tanks), trailer, etc., you're starting to get into the $5-6K range. At that point, I start thinking about good used boats.
@santisurf27 жыл бұрын
These boards are for people that want the boat experience without the expense of a boat... gas on a used boat will run you a pretty penny compared to the fuel consumption of this bad boy. Mine is already ordered.
@reds7vn6446 жыл бұрын
Fleet Davis Beats any boat due to it's versatility. If you don't fish it isn't worth it but I fish the Intercoastal Waterway and all of its pocket waters. The Rover makes the most sense. Light, simple, easy to store and haul, light on fuel, can be used as a SUP and has the capability to carry 2 people. All for $6k. BARGAIN!!!!

i have owned both a Bote Board and a SoloSkiff and I was less than impressed with the Bote board after dropping $3000 into a paddle board. The solo skiff is the way to go, Bote Boards are super fragile, the new "honeycomb" protection shell will never be as strong as the rotomolded polyethylene SoloSkiff. i was so excited when i got my Bote board but ruined the $3000 dollar vessel by simply running into a few rocks when i was flounder gigging, the first day that i had it. The SoloSkiff will take a serious beating due to the composite it is made, it does not track as well as a note board but i would trade the durability of the Soloskiff over Bote Board ANY DAY! I also inquired about the warranty program and Bote Board and they told me to call someone that use to work for them to fix the dings? really? $3000 for a platform and you can't even hold true to your warranty. Solo skiff or go home, i beat the hell out of that thing and it doesn't even look like it has ever seen water much less rocks and the sand i drag it across to take it down to the beach. I trailer my solo skiff and don't have to worry about baking it up on the sides of my trailer. Bote Boards...really???? total gimmick. Go Solo skiff or save up a true skiff don't waste your money on this piece, it won't last more than 6 months, mine didn't last 6 hours and they had NO consideration at all for repairs even with a warranty. Plus the solo skiff has in deck storage, and a cooler that won't run you $300 already built into it. I have my 45 qt yeti mounted on the front of my solo skiff and can stand up on it and cast the fly rod, the Bote Board was less than stable when approaching the bow, i can "hang ten" on my solo skiff and have no issues with balance. Sorry Bote Boards you have lost a lifetime customer simply based on a product that will never compete in the market. I will admit the Bote Board looks "sexier" however after my experience with the two products i will never give up my solo skiff for the lesser of the two. The Solo Skiff is cheaper, stronger, more durable, more functional, and more stable. there is no question to ask when deciding between the two. Solo Skiff....you have a life time customer, can't wait to pick up the next version.
@booyamotorsports5 жыл бұрын
After reading that it sounds like you're pretty sure that the bote board and the solo skiff are equal, no winner , you definitely proved that point very convincingly without being redundant

I cant see why you could not get a tour. Send them a Email and ask.
@TomNavesink7 жыл бұрын
Very cool, but if you flip, you are going to lose all that stuff and the outboard becomes a real weapon. I'd like to see ways of locking equipment in, and a dead man switch.
@santisurf27 жыл бұрын
you need to look closely at the engine then no the board... and the engine does have a kill switch

They no longer offer a RotoPax mount. They switched without letting dealers or customers know, they now use a version they created called JerryKan and its pretty terrible lol believe they hold .75 gallons each but im not positive.

This thing is not going to work with us guys here in Southern CA where we usually surf launch. Going out and back in with the surf, you will always expect the possibility of flipping, hence expect all those unsecured contraptions getting loose and potentially lost or damaged, including the outboard. Poorly designed I think, a better product though a lot heavier is the Solo Skiff of which I own one. Was a Hobie PA 14 owner but motorized kayak made more sense to me, a decision I never regretted.
@jackglaqq70397 жыл бұрын
I see your point in you will lose a lot of stuff if it flips but this thing is very sturdy and I think the only way you could flip this is if your actually trying to flip it

@WindFireAllThatKindOfThing6 жыл бұрын
Because you need a trailer and suitable rig, usually a truck. And a ramp to get it into the water. My buddy is looking at this because he doesn't have his F250 anymore (divorce is a motherf****er). He has a car with a roof rack. So he can just drop the whole thing off the rack, assemble it, and roll it down to the water through the foot trails without dealing with Rush Hour Fishing Traffic at the country ramp. I thought he was crazy, but seriously, it's insanely mobile. Put a Honda 5 in the trunk, put the roller wheels and frame/bucket in the back seat, and he already hauls two paddle boards on the roof rack routinely.

dissing the kayak guys? come now pete, i mounted an outboard on my yak years ago. nothing new here. killer bote board though. 16 mph? lol ...this new bote is sick. have you seen the sup that you can pedal? goofy. kayaks are better for a lot of reasons. more options, and i can stand in mine. to each his own, no reason to be so condescending about us yakers and our pedals.
@palmbeachpete7 жыл бұрын
Many have put outboards on kayaks, some are real cool. But the kayak company's have not made a outboard kayak.
