I enjoy seeing those scenes around the island. You are very lucky indeed to get all those outboards given to you as well. Another interesting vid, and great job on the van project too.

That Astro van seems to have dealt pretty well with Kodiak's ever salty environment. Being a 4 -wheeler, if I'm not mistaken, just adds to it's appeal. I run a short shaft 1992 Johnson on a 16 footer aluminium hull. It always starts on 1st (easy) pull.and runs smooth and sweet. Great engine !

By driving that, does that make you an Astronaut? I have severe arthritis and I had to retrofit to electric start for my 85 or 86 35 Evinrude. Luckily, my flywheel was for electric start and I just needed to find the starter motor and the mounting bracket. I have learned a lot from watching your videos. I was searching for information on the retrofit and stumbled across your videos and have been watching ever since, thanks!

Man in you’re part of the world a shower every couple of months would be enough. Looks really cold there and you say it’s summer. Here in Australia i think 15 degrees C is freezing 😜👍🦘🇦🇺

I need your help. I was messing with my friend's 1975 4.5 hp mercury, and tried starting it with my impact with the cover/hood off and stripped the nylon lock nut on top of the flywheel. I can't tell online which is the right one to order (says @6?) Can I just go to the hardware store and buy a regular locknut? I measured thread pitch, and I don't think it was normal "fine" or "coarse". Also, I know ... too much, but ... I need a thumb screw too, as his was bent and stripped. I'm not sure which one/part number. It isn't the same as the later 8.5's and 15 hp (bigger diameter, and aluminum). It is about the same size as a johnson 9.9, but has a little finer threads. Thanks!
