Knocked Loose are great all around. Whole band sounds tight AF. But I think they really demonstrate how important it is to have a vocalist with a different sound. These guys absolutely cut through the noise in the scene, and I think a huge part of that is Garris’ higher pitched voice. Like Fall Out Boy’s meteoric rise in their genre. All the other vocalists sound similar at best, then Stump comes around and his voice and delivery was so distinct that they stood out massively from their peers. I’m sure we all know that feeling when you’re grinding through Spotify or whatever looking for a new band, and 30 minutes will go by and you’ll wonder if you’re actually listening to a new artist or just played another song from the last one. Or you’ll end up listening to the same band twice without realising because they all, but most notably the vocalist sounds the fucking same as the last guy. The low and slow growls are tired AF. And a sure fire way to blend into the crowd.

I've seen this band 7 or 8 times over the years. A couple years ago I felt like they were burning themselves out and especially ruining their vocal chords. But they've managed to come back so fucking hard, write some of the greatest material ever and absolutely murder every liveshow these days. One of the greatest bands of this era.
