Our cultural perceptions around drugs have been driven by an emotionally toxic narrative for so long. It's difficult for people to separate their emotions from this complex problem and to think about it logically. Facts presented simply like this video can have incredible impact. Keep going!

right? people immediately want to punish addicts and don't want them to, under any circumstances, have it "good". But even if you lack any empathy and can't put yourself into someone else's shoes, even then they should at least accept the evidence-based, selfish, logical and VERY GOOD reason that it's better for society as a whole if we'd change things. I always wonder, if they hate the idea of spending any kind of money or energy on rehabilitating people, then why not just gas them? Instead of having them suffer, society suffer and having it cost so much money. They're no better and just as radical as H*tler was, just with a different group of people. And there ARE examples of how to do it, just look at Norway, or Scandinavia as a whole for that matter, or Switzerland or the Netzerlands. People, even if addicted or homeless, still have their dignity there and are actually helped, they have a realistic chance (and motiviation, because their life isn't ruined by some criminal record forever) to recover and build their life back up.

@@slaveNo-4028 Norway isn't really a good example. Little to no dignity for users of illegal drugs almost anywhere. The police is corrupt in drug related questions, and breaks several laws daily. Look to Holland, Portugal or Switzerland.

@@slaveNo-4028 There's a police scandal, rolling up in Norway right now concerning illegal drugs and the police's inhumane views of drug users. The police have been found to use illegal "tools" against user's of illegal drugs for decades among other serious thing's incl. corruption. We where supposed to have a drug reform this year, but the corrupt police is missusing it's power, and is acting politicall.

@@slaveNo-4028 Other research shows that social class is VERY important when dealing with the authority's on almost any level, like healtcare and nav; norway's public agency for welfare. The lower the sosial status and the more you deviate from what's considered "normal", it's alot more likely you'r rights wont matter, and your threated as shit, this goes especially for users if illegal drugs. Ironically, if you don't drink alcohol, which is one of the absolutely most dangerous drugs, you might get "frozen out" as drinking is a hardcore part of Scandinavian culture, and is considered a normal thing you should do to not be the weirdoo in the corner.

Prohibition was supposed to end drug use, but it wasn't intended to end drug use by the people who imposed it. It was intended to control sections of the public deemed undesirable by prohibitionists which you demonstrated very well in this video
