Updated 2021 version for The Great Ace Attorney 2: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5OlXmZ9es54epI I included some themes from games other than the one the character has appeared as a defendant in depending on whether or not the theme has been used again or if the sound quality matches the one for that game he or she appears as a defendant. For example, Edgeworth’s Dual Destinies theme does not fit the the sound quality of the first game, the only game in which Edgeworth appears as a defendant. However, his Great Revival theme from Justice for All is still viable enough to be considered Edgeworth’s theme for the time period of the first game. I have only included defendants that are under your hands because including some characters would be unnecessary, such as characters that appear in courtroom trials in Case 5 in AAI2, because with that logic, every known criminal in Ace Attorney would be on this list. Prosecutors Blackquill and Nahyuta are not included because while they each confessed to a crime, they were not officially defendants. Turnabout Sisters’ Ballad is thought of more as Mia’s theme, but considering the situation and story of the Turnabout Sisters Case, having this play for Maya makes sense. Dahlia’s theme plays for Iris because before you know Iris’s identity for sure, Dahlia’s theme plays. The Trials and Tribulations Detention Center plays for Iris Fey because though it is not actually a character theme, I have noticed that fans tend to associate this theme with her for how rarely it plays. (The only other time this detention center theme plays is in the second case.) The piano-like instrument at the beginning of this theme also fits Iris Fey’s benign, polite personality. Simon Keyes, Kay, and Courtney are not officially defendants, since they were never arrested. Think about Gumshoe and Maggey Byrde in the first case of AAI1 as an example. They were the main suspects of the case though you know they are innocent. Gumshoe and Maggey are "defended," but that does not make a them defendants in any way, since the definition of a defendant is a person who is formally arrested for a crime. That's like saying Adrian Andrews was a defendant in Farewell, My Turnabout.The subplot with Edgeworth's career choice in AAI2 only makes Simon, Kay, and Courtney seem more like defendants, but objectively speaking, none of them are any different from other suspects in other Investigations cases. Phoenix Wright ~ Objection! 2001 plays for Phoenix in Apollo Justice because it acts as his theme for his return. Prelude of an Adventure plays for Naruhodou Ryuunosuke because it acts as his personal theme in addition to being one of his Objection! Themes. Basically, other Objection! themes don’t play for characters in this compilation because they are not used for any special purposes.

169Tom Nitpick time! While it can be considered generic for the theater itself, It's show time! could have been used as a theme for Trucy. That one's iffy though. However, I'm pretty sure IS-7 Incident should have been used for Issei Tenkai/Jeff Masters, considering that that's, you know, that incident that he was convicted of. While it's probably not considered his theme (maybe used more for Gregory) it seems a bit too appropriate for it not to be there. Besides, IS-7 Incident's theme has been used with him.

I agree with all of the choices except Objection 2001! for Phoenix in Apollo Justice. I feel Forgotten Legend fits much better here, being not only Phoenix' main theme in the game, but also the theme of his downfall to being a piano playing gambler who gets accused of murder.

I would argue that since you go through the entire game wondering what happened to Phoenix and how you can save him, it's very appropriate. It may not used for him as defendant in case 1, but it's used for him as a defendant in a forgery. A crime he is the defendant in throughout the whole game. Also completely unrelated, I just got to Maya's music box theme and it hit me in the feels harder than a truck.

169Tom Haven't played PLvPW yet ;_;. While that he can considered a defandant of forgery, I'll agree there, 169Tom stated he only uses themes for defandant under your hands. It's why Roland from AAI2 isn't here, because even though she is a defandant, you aren't defending her. Likewise, you aren't trying to get Phoenix innoncent in 4-4, you are trying to find Kristoph guilty. It just so happens that you acquit Wright. In that case, he isnt a defandant.

Thank you. (: Red borders weren't in the last few because there was no one evil, and I didn't use them for all killers because all of them are evil in some kind of sense. (I can probably use red borders for the "true nature" of some killers next time around.) If there is anything else I haven't mentioned, I probably haven't thought of using red borders yet. :P
