My favs are Electric Forecast and Eon Ticket, but I specifically love Eon Ticket because of the huge Hoenn tribute it is, and as someone who's first game was Sapphire it feels like such a nostalgic love letter. For that same reason I also fucking love Flying in the Sky with You, it gets me soooo insanely emotional I love that song.

I think you still missed a few samples (specifically in The Pokémon Inside my Heart, Psychic Psychic, and Glorious Day)… three people pointed these out in the comment section of this video. Do you want to edit the video *again* to add the Pokemon song references you didn’t initially notice??? We don’t want to overwhelm you. :( But it’s not a big problem at all because some samples are much harder to hear than others!😉

And even though (I don’t mean to boast, but…) I have a good ear when it comes to catching extra melodies, samples and interpolations from other songs, notes and changes in pitch, BPM (speed), and note length in songs since I was in a choir in elementary and high school, took a few piano lessons when I was younger, and took an online music theory course twice and passed it, it can still be difficult for me to find certain samples in music, including, in some cases, the PokeMiku songs, either because the sample is so subtle, short, or quiet that one needs an instrumental version or headphones (which I currently don’t have on) to hear it better or I’m simply unfamiliar with certain Pokémon songs

13:59 There's a tiny leitmotif for the R/G/B/Y Hall of Fame song that's missing in Pinocchio's "The Pokémon Inside My Heart" segment, specifically at 1:19 and 2:40 in the original song. Even so, thanks for the compilation! I was wondering some of these familiar tunes myself! ❤

Ah, for Encounter, the flute motif used is actually the one from Pokemon 2000's Japanese OST which is why they're pretty similar! The songs as titled in the OST are フルーラの笛 (Fleura's Flute) and 惑星の鼓動 (Heartbeat of the Planet).

in an interview, jin mentioned that he referenced driftveil city in his song, and i think it's in the last line of the chorus (namae o yonde, ah~). sounds similar to the melody in driftveil at around the 30 second mark!

Haven’t played gen 4+ except ORAS, so I can relate. I don’t think there are any more references in Journey’s Prequels, Journey’s Traces. They took the sample of Pichu’s cry and made a heartfelt song out from scratch. MELLOMELLOID is for the Fairy type, which didn’t exist until gen 6, so it makes sense for the use of Mt. Moon (where you can find Clefairy) and other gen 6+ themes associated with fairy types.

@@DylansaneOfficial iyowa actually put a lot of sfx (buttons, the game freak logo sound, the pokemon center heal up music, healing with potions, and more bc there were A LOT) but theres a lot of layers to the instrumental of the song so it's kind of easy to miss unless you really listen to it + the off vocal version i also just recently discovered that he used the hall of fame motif during the part where mama miku sings (2:23 in the original video). some parts in the song also sound a bit similar to the RBY bike theme
