“Outdated and inhumane” Manitoba Vets vote to end the practice of tail docking for dogs

This past Friday, the Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association voted overwhelmingly in favour of banning the practice of docking the tails of dogs, a procedure that animal advocates have long called outdated and inhumane. Kurt Black reports

But then there's dogs that wag so hard that they damage their tails. My daughter had a dog with a powerful wag and shed split her tail open all the time, her walls were always covered in blood. What then? So many vet bills when docking would have spared this. I'm against docking ears and tails but for cases like this, something should be done?

I've had 2 mastiffs that had docked tails. Wouldn't change a thing.
