It is interesting that on pine you went with a orangey/ reddish toned stain. I understand you were trying to coordinate with a chest of drawers but... I very much appreciate your care in sanding. It highlights well the need for appropriate prep to have excellent finished results. You continue to use your educator skills artfully though no longer in the traditional classroom. Keep the curriculum coming!

This was such a delightful change of pace! I loved that you transformed this without paint. Don’t get me wrong, you do amazing stuff with paint, but it was refreshing to see what you did with some TLC, stain and gold knobs. Great job!

Hi Lauren, would you ever consider doing a video of a piece that you transformed that you purchased as painted already? I have come across many pieces that I'd love to flip but they are already painted and I've never seen you do this. Thanks for considering!

I have a piece that I got for free from someone who bought a little table from me. I thought it was going to be a quick flip, I started sanding to smooth out and quickly realized I needed to strip it. My 1st time and it’s a lot of work. Not to mention, I live in FL and work in my garage. I covered in plastic, but it still dried up too fast. What a mess. Still sanding the remnants. Probably won’t do that again, unless it’s winter here.😂

Did you by any chance sand between coats of stain? I would have thought the spraying of water would raise the grain and take away the smoothness of sanding. Thanks :)
@krcl88124 ай бұрын
You wouldn't sand between or after coats of stain. It's advised to do a light sanding before the final coat of sealant, if you have raised grain.

If you are sanding ...why do you need to clean it...just curious
@justjulee91354 ай бұрын
I'm not sure if you will get an answer, but in some of her previous videos she has said that she cleans before sanding so any dirt or oils doesn't get ground into the wood. 😊
