In this video we show how we use the Suunto Ambit2 to navigate in the forest during our hike! We focus on how to use the GPS to track our movements and finding our way back. During the hike we also found a big peace of Chaga, what a bonus :)

Nice review. I am looking for a navigation watch for my hunting and trout fishing activities which require some hiking into the woods, up and down slopes, etc. Need to find my way back to the car. This looks very nice. I enjoyed the coffee break as well. Nicely done o the post fire cleanup! Cheers

Hi, thanks a lot for this usefull and good info. i bought the traverse alpha after a long phase of comparing several watches. i think that exact these functions are in the woods a potential lifesaver. Your Life demo of this functions are really informative and well done under real conditions. I have found the GPS unit on this watch to be very accurate, why it seems to be a bit longer at the time you mentioned is that the starting point was actually some meters after the pile of woods :) You know, when filming and at the same time pressing the buttons on he watch to start the trekking program , it can be some seconds between. +Ger Mestrum Hi! You can import (and export) gpx routes on the Ambit2. You just have to use Suuntos Movescount site (which you use to keep track of your moves etc). You also can create your own routes using the Movescount site and export them to a GPX file (or just synchronize it with the Ambit2). Hope this helps :) Atb, Joachim

One thing that can be an issue when importing GPX files not created in Suunto´s own application is that you see the complete track in the application (route planer) but in the watch only two Waypoints is added relating to the new route (Start and finish). But it's easy to add new Waypoints by just clicking on the route before synchronize it to the watch. It just take a minute extra of your time :)

+Antanas Capskis I have had them for approx. 3 years now. They need some time on the trail before they fits your feet, but when you have used them for a while they are really comfy! The quality has so far been top notch, they are made of leather so I wax/oil them to get them waterproof. But I like that they not have goretex in them, will hold for a very long timme if taken care of!

+magnus andersson Tack Magnus! Man laddar den genom USB så allt som har USB duger, tex dator, biluttag (12v) mm. Angående batteritiden så beror det lite på vilka program du kör. Men generellt är den mycket bra. Jag har haft den ute i dagar med GPS tracking på utan att ladda. Har man den som en vanlig klocka räcker den ca 1 månad. Ha det bra!

I think all of the ones you looking at is good watches, but I really can recommend the Suunto! Still use it and it works great (and also the battery is still as it was new!).
