Please keep your dogs in the videos when you can. Love their antics. Our lab used to steal my hand tools when I was using them and I had to go retrieve them all the time. The job always took twice as long!

Oh yeah they're pretty much always with me unless I'm doing metal work . I make them stay inside until I have the shavings cleaned up . maple steals everything and half the time I'll catch her in the act she'll turn around a grab something else .

Thank you for leaving us a comment on the video for the cabin build for this video of the table build. It was a pleasure to watch you put this table together and improve your outdoor living and relaxing space. For the past several years I’ve contemplated putting a classic style picnic table with benches in one part of my yard. And inspired by you today is the day. I came across a quality wood crafter in my community and he had an 8-foot table for sale. I purchased it and we’ll meet up this week to place it in my yard. Thanks again for the quality videos and taking us along your experience. Now my family will also have a table (bought not built, this time) outside to enjoy as well. Best to you and yours.

Maybe round over the edge with a router before staining. More comfortable on the arms and maybe prevent some splinters. Love it!

Best thing you did was put the four footpads on the base. That makes it way easier to level. A great example of my favorite kind of carpentry - "rustic" or "rough", but well-built and completely functional. Nice - a giant version of my cable table. 😂

Good vid. Excellent build. Eat on Sunday, poker on Saturday night. Like a big table. Like you most are just too small for having a good conversation and get together. Man rout the edges and heck just put a clear or light honey stain on it. It's in the dry for the most part. Just get it sealed. Now for the next project. Bet you got 80 ft of lumber in that or more. All good from east Kentucky USA.
@blackspruce1861
@blackspruce1861 19 сағат бұрын
Thanks !! thats the plan , only I'll probably just use a sander on the edges I hate unhooking my router from the table lol . I might wait for spring so the stain can dry better it seems to stay tacky if you put it on in cold weather

Love a good huge table, grab your lazy suzan and away ya go. I am confused as to why you screwed down from the top of the table and not up from the bottom to hide all the screws and prevent a spot for moisture to settle. ya you'd need to drill out a hole unless you wanted to use very long screws but it would have left you with a perfect top. also looks like you'll wanna chamfer the edges of the table lest whoever stands up wrong or reaches under the table to pet a doggo be met with an arm or a leg full of splinters.
