The open-air morning markets in northern China are a traditional market form that typically opens at dawn, gathering a large number of vendors and customers, creating a bustling atmosphere. The market offers a wide variety of goods, including fresh vegetables, fruits, seafood, meat, and various daily necessities, along with local snacks and breakfast stalls that attract nearby residents to shop and taste. Morning markets are not only places for buying and selling goods but also important venues for social interaction, reflecting the rich local customs and community culture. Due to the freshness of the products and affordable prices, morning markets are highly favored by locals and are an essential part of daily life in northern cities.

5:00- Look at that knife! I like all the different kinds of jelly noodles. Not well known here, you have to make them yourself, or go to a bigger city. Another typical alien feature of street food videos is the general idea of selling hot soup or noodles or something wet in a plastic bag. It's really hard to imagine walking down the street with a little bag of hot soup! Personally (if I ever get there) I would want to just sit down and eat it directly, if that was possible.

I watch a LOT of videos about markets, street food... sometimes they are shown in Winter, maybe some of the food is frozen... but something I casually notice is that a lot of vendors are working in fairly open areas, maybe just on a table... what happens if it rains? It's not killing me, it just comes to mind, say if someone is frying something out in the open. Maybe it's not a problem, I live in a rainy place personally. Anyway, I have waited a few years to see this. We have "flea markets" here, which generally have no comparison, maybe no hot food at all but generally similar... "farmers' market". Chinese people would not be impressed! Anyway, I occasionally go to one on a rainy day, and there is nobody there! A few vendors that have trucks to work out of, a few customers instead of hundreds, it's sad and I have wasted a long drive.
