I just had an inspector tell me that all exterior gfci outlets must be ran on a 20amp circuit. I've researched and have yet to find that in the 2017 NEC code book. What state are you from and which code are you following?

NEC 2023 (not sure 2020, though 2023 doesn't mark this section as a revision or new) on 210.63 Equipment Requiring Service reads "A 125-volt, single-phase, 15- or 20-ampere-rated receptacle outlet shall be installed at an accessible location..." A further infomration note points to 210.8(E) which says "GFCI protection shall be provided for the receptacles required by 210.63." So that code specifically allows 15-amp receptacle outlet outside for supporting equipment service.

If I added more receptacles for the rear of my house, can I just daisy chain regular wr outlets to the gfci? Or does every receptacle have to be gfci no matter what?
