So much for rock climbing.... Did we spell it correctly... LOL Thanks for sharing this amazing location guys. We will be out there by His Grace in good time. This place is simply awesomely beautiful! Truitjieskraal... Always something in a name.... Somehow your excursion is reminiscent of my dad and I as a youngster attempting some rock climbing in the Fish River Canyon, Spitskoppe and Brandberg in Namibia as well as more places I can't recall by name. Those days it was a canvas back pack and some sort of rope he would tie around my waste LOL. Well you inspire these two sub sixties to give it a try! Looking forward to your next adventure! Clearly there are places in SA that are beautiful in any season. Awesome location. Too bad you were stuck out there for a week or so, since the last blog. I was organizing a rescue team.😁

Watching your June 24 vlog. First, what’s a “farm stall?” Very impressed with you two rock climbing in the Cedarbergs. Is this your first climbing outdoors versus indoors? I’m guessing no since you got all that gear. Blair, did you shove in that whole sandwich? 😳😉😂😎

A farm stall in South Africa is a shop on the side of the toad set up by a farmer to either sell their produce or products. Call it a farmer’s lemonade stand if I can put it layman’s terms. In Afrikaans we call it a “pad stal” which translates to road stall. Often than not you can get something to eat on a road trip and you get to see some quirky things. Google Pampoen padstal Robertson to get an idea.

I smashed the whole sandwich in record time - climbing is hungry business! 😆

15-17, what climbing grade do you mean? also, nice crag! thanks for sharing. trad/crack is really fun too if you ever get the chance!
@tehbryan03 жыл бұрын
Yes please! I'd love to know what grading system this is too 😂
@jeddviljoen29733 жыл бұрын
It's a South African grading system. You can find a conversion table.

Were you the only people there all day? Climbing looked a little scary but you both did well and the vlog really worked. Blair's lunch looked great and you could have canoed in that! 😊

Another great vlog 🙂 Really interested in climbing… did you take many lessons before trying it outdoors?
@NicoleEddy13 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tara :) We didn't take lessons, but watched many KZbin tutorials as well as joined the climbing gym & started real slow.
