that is pretty cool but honestly if I ever have kids I wouldn't let them use nail guns (not until there in their teens) because one of the things i found out about them and this was when I was 24 is that if they jot a knot or a hard area in the wood then can bend in another direction and if your not careful that could go into your hand even though its not in the path or direction of the nailgun. Other then that again this is another super cool bid, keep it up bob :D

I ordered your plans awhile back and built my first cabinet. I used OSB to save money since it is going to be in the garage, and I liked it so much that I am in the process of building my second one to store auto body and paint supplies. I don't have a table saw because I sold it when I bought a track saw. It is much easier to cut down 4 x 8 sheets of plywood and is much safer.

I love the part where your son helped. Is there a way that you could do more projects with your kids? My son is 7 (almost 8) and he loves to help me on projects but I never know what kind of projects to do with him. I would love some suggestions.
@Iliketomakestuff7 жыл бұрын
It's tough because I try to work while they're at school, so that I can hang out with them when they're home. I do hope we can make some more stuff soon though. Do you have a scrollsaw? It's a relatively safe tool for them to get experience with and they can make puzzles, little swords, etc.

"Makes it really easy for me to get to the rake, so they can rake the leaves" LOL... Cool build Bob, I can see this design modified a hundred different way for the makers own needs. I made a similar outdoor shop cabinet but gave it an upward slanted roof with a little overhang and attached some 6 mil plastic on top to allow me to access the contents if I have to while it is raining and have any water to run off behind it Again great job.

You could add some polycarbonate sheeting to the sides and back with a slightly slanted roof to allow water to run off the back. Have the roof overhang front and sides slightly to add to the weatherproofing. All these thoughts were going through my head as I don't have a garage or carport either.
