Grew up fishing jigger poles in the Everglades in south Florida! Best when there was a drought and water levels were low. All the fish would be restricted to the canals. Like shooting fish in a barrel. We use to fish at night with buzz baits. Give that a shot! You will not be disappointed. For the dream Yeew!

The Jiigger pole fishing I know uses a big top water plug with about 1/2 a foot of heavy line, and you lightly slap the water repeatedly with the tip of the pole as you drag the lure behind the wake through the cover. This is just flipping with a pole. There is a reason the real jigger pole technique is not permitted in a professional tournament.

Yes. 20+ foot pole with a big lure during bedding season. My Grandpa only used a lure when he didn't have a pork rind(fatback) with size 9/0 hooks and 80# face on line. It's something to see when a 8-10 pounder explodes in front of you. Also, it is not a a reaction bait. They want it bad

This is a cheaper version of the one I have......www.basspro.com/B'n'M-Ray-Scott-Telescopic-Jigger-Poles/product/10222877/.........never really checked these out to see how good they are. There is supposed to be an American company in the northwest (I think) that still make ones like mine, but I don't know where.

SNS Pro Audio Visual Yeah, I looked at that one. It is telescopic, Is yours? I dont think the line goes through the pole like yours. Also, I dont think it has a reel. I saw a video on Ray Scott's lake where they were using the Ray Scott Jigger Pole with only about 6 in of line hanging from the tip using a sweeping method. The tip looked realy flimsy. I'm not sure it could stand up to the heavy hook sets like you do it. You have a lot more line out than they do. I like your method better. Does yours have any info(brand name, model etc..) written on it?

chris jones No...the ones I have were custom made for my Father in Law by someone down south. I'll do some more research and see what I can find. If I remember correctly, there was an old article in a BASS magazine a few years back about using a Jigger pole and they are the ones that had an address for the place that still made the really good ones.
