Mike & Melissa - I really like the 7 minute segment of turning a tree into lumber. I think it would be a great teaching lesson for a teacher. In fact I will share it with my daughter who teaches pre-school kids and see what she thinks. Thanks for all you do. Hi to Hunter and the girls.

The process from selecting a tree, to felling, snigging, cutting into manageable lengths, then finally making into either lumber or firewood is a great educational experience. Well done. Hey Melissa when wearing a baseball type cap, that viewers would still like to see your eyes. Woolgoolga experienced heat to 38 degrees Celsius yesterday. A far cry to the weather you are experiencing. Nifty, Woolgoolga, NSW, Australia. Love your daily videos.

The video on how to make lumber was very good. You may not need so many scenes of the skidding out of the logs though. I happen to work at a PreK-8th grade Catholic school and by chance, our school librarian yesterday just happened to be showing our preschool and kindergarten kids an animated video of basically the same thing, from cutting down the tree to processing. I will definitely suggest your video since it shows actual people and machinery to making the lumber. Don't know how they'll take to Melissa's antics though, lol. Keep up the good work!

HA I am 80 cant remember 50 any more Still making sawdust and on a good day still climbing trees and topping before felling Love your shows My "hobby" is buying old old saws in a sack and restoring them Dont sell them for 2 reasons First they oldies dont have chain brakes (made before Chain brakes were around) Dont need the liability. Second and more importantly These poor things have lived a life of abuse. I give them a second chance and they live in my side shed. They all run and occasionally I will pull one our and use it HEAVY!! In a sack is no exaggeration. One of these days I will figure out how to get them posted Bought my 2.5 year old grand his first Stih. Dont panic it is a toy that Stihl sells.Pull the rope The chain moves and it shakes and rattles and Roars :) Stay Strong and Proud Work hard and be happy.

Can't remember the year or brand but remember it was heavy, had a hand grip clutch to engage the blade, and a rubber tube with a weight inside the gas tank to flop to lowest point to draw fuel. got rid of it to get a new model Remington with a roller nose on the bar. Now that there's funny! I'm 68 and I've been retired from the track department on the railroad for 8 years. When I started they gave us a safety workbook. That instructed us on how to use basic hand tools. We employees called it the introduction to Manuel laborer. To properly hold a nail or track spike to start it into wood, you place it between your pointer and middle finger Palm up. That way, if the spike mall or hammer slips off it will hit the meaty part of your hand and not hurt as much, or cause a thumbnail injury. Those of us that had worked for Carpenters we're already familiar with a lot of stuff in this manual. But for those fresh out of school, it prevented them from developing allergies. LOL LOL LOL

( Just a suggestion). If someone has the time, possibly your neighbor lady that came up with the awesome intro and outro idea. Could take the 7-minute video around to a few local schools and preview it. Depending on the age level of the children the teacher will probably get overwhelmed with questions. Then either add on the end of the video a question and answer segment. Or a follow-up video, answering the most asked questions. You'll probably get a lot on the orange hard hat face shield Kevlar chaps, why is he dressed in Orange. I know you have all the information in previous videos Mike. Have a great day.

Your deer episode reminds me of my deer episode late last spring. In south-suburban Chicago, where any kind of woods or prairie lands are at least five miles away, I was walking back to my car just after noon with a very large Dairy Queen hot fudge sundae when I heard klopity-klop-klop coming from my right. I looked and saw something fairly large and tannish-brown headed my way. It took me a few seconds to recognize it was a deer and although there are lots of deer in forest preserves in the area, it’s very unusual to see one at that time of day and at that location. I turned and watched as the deer passed me about two feet away, running like a bat out of hell through the parking lot headed for a four-lane thoroughfare, which is busy most hours of the day. I’m thinking to myself this isn’t ending well when the deer jumped over the hood of an east-bound car and, klopity-klop, jumped clear over a west-bound smaller compact car, shot though the yard between houses, jumped a six-foot wooden fence and disappeared south and off into the sunset, so to speak. The posted speed limit on that road is 30 miles an hour and everyone knows no one drives that slow; I’m sure I don’t. I was impressed. And since it was around noon, a parking lot full of folks at Dairy Queen got to see this amazing sight too. Now a question: After a tree is felled and trimmed, what do you do with the slash?
